Montana Bans Felt Wading Shoes Angler's coming to Montana to fly fish may literally have to step into new shoes. It's not a law yet, but there is a proposed bill that is circulating in the Montana Legislature. This bill if enacted would ban felt on Montana Rivers as of 2012, but there's wide discussion and a bit of controversy right now.

Montana Fly Fishing in WinterMontana fly fishing and winter? Seems to be a verbal paradox, but good opportunities are out there for the patient and adventurous angler. Most believe fly fishing possibilities hibernate through winter, but for many anglers the season signifies quality, un-crowded fishing. So we thought in celebration of winter's official onset it was time to discuss some winter fishing. discuss it.

So far this season we've had plenty of moisture and our current snow pack in the Yellowstone drainage is at 117% of normal.
