Good Moisture = Good Fishing
Summer is finally here and so far this season we've had some great fishing on the Missouri River, Spring Creeks, and a few local lakes (see our Montana Fishing Reports for details).
Our moisture levels are at 106% of normal which, as most of you know, bodes well for some great July and August fishing. In 2008 we had similar conditions and the hopper fishing on the Yellowstone & Boulder Rivers was phenomenal. What could be better than seeing your hopper pattern disappear and realizing a big fish just ate it? We are betting that this year is going to be just as good. So don't miss out - we've still got some availability this August and would enjoy showing you some great hopper action in 2009.
If you are planning on fly fishing Montana this summer please visit our website, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us. Our summer is filling up quickly, but we still have a few openings so don't wait any longer to book your trip for this summer!

Salmonfly Hatch Anticipation
The fabled Salmonfly hatch is drawing near on the Yellowstone River. Our water levels are finally starting to drop and with the predicted warm weather over the next few days we are anticipating an early July hatch.
Many of Montana's streams have already had their Salmonfly hatch. The Madison and Yellowstone Rivers are typically the last rivers in Montana to have Salmonflies. Our moisture levels are normal so we are anticipating a good hatch around the 4th of July this year.
While most of our guides are already booked for this timeframe, it's still not too late to make your reservations. For availability, please contact Eric Adams via email and he'll give you the low down on this great opportunity. |
PMDs Have Arrived
These delectable trout snacks started showing up about a week ago and the normally wary trout of the creeks have lost some of their bashfulness to feast on these tasty morsels. We've had some great spring creek fishing so far and look forward to continued success throughout July.
If you've never experienced sight fishing to wary trout on these world class trout waters, we'd love to show you some of the great opportunities these rivers provide. |
