Groundsman Training Course

 

The workforce divisions at Virginia Highlands  and Wytheville Community Colleges have partnered to provide a 128-hour comprehensive training program for groundsmen.  The course covers the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution and transmission lines and equipment. Training topics include safety, protective equipment, knot tying, basic work zone, grounding equipment, transformers, flagging, CPR/First Aid, and a 10-hour OSHA course. This program has been approved by the Workforce Investment Board and the Virginia Employment Commission for those who qualify for their tuition assistance.
