By now everyone is quite familiar with what Twitter is, and the marketing industry almost mandates that one use that channel as part of one's overall marketing strategy. It can leave many people wondering, "how on earth do I integrate this"? Here are some tips on how to begin integrating Twitter into your event/conference management strategy:

1)     NECESSITY: Think about components of your event/conference for which you need to disseminate information, and distribute them specifically through Twitter. For example, you may want to advertise that onsite conference updates, links to speakers bios, and other schedule details can be found only through your Twitter handle.

2)     FANFARE: If you plan to hold one or more raffle events, announce the winners exclusively through Twitter! By announcing winners, coupon codes, and other items of interest exclusively through tweets, you will help increase your number of followers and generate interest in the overall event.

3)     FOLLOW-UP: Whenever a follower writes a direct message or a favorable tweet about your event, be sure to follow up immediately! They'll enjoy the instant feedback, and it will send the overall message that you are providing relevant information and responses in real time.

No matter what kind of event you plan, there is always something worth posting on-the-go! Be sure to keep the posts relevant, and you'll see you followers increase in no time!
