OCD Marketing is good for business
How did I build my ice carving business through "OCD marketing"? I spent the first 3-4 years as an entrepreneur as a human billboard for my company. I can remember months at a time where no other shirt than a company shirt touched my back. I had business cards in my pocket at all times and will probably have cancer in my left thigh from never parting with the cell phone in my pocket. I handed out business cards like I got them at bulk discount pricing. When I was out in public I looked for engagement rings with no wedding band (indicating an upcoming wedding). I believe every wedding should have an ice sculpture, so I told them that! Who doesn't want one? In retrospect I realize that my enthusiasm for taking advantage of every situation to spread the good news about my company was one of the best things I ever did to build my business.
