Steve Latham recently contacted me pertaining to some superior service he received lately.  Unfortunatly Steve experienced a fire recently.  His chisels (as you can see from the photo below) were heavily damaged.  He shipped them off to Michael Pizzuto to be restored and sharpened.  The chisels were shipped on Monday & they were returned on FRIDAY! 

As you can see from the photo below Michael did a fantastic job with them.  I gave Michael a call to get his take on it,  here it is-

"My role as a NICA member is to help in any way possible & support other carvers when called upon.  It took four 8 hour days to acid soak the metal, remove the burned wood stubs, cut and recarve new Brazilian rosewood handles, Stain & varnish & finally clean & sharpen his tools.  A definite "challenge" assignment.  New replacement value would have been $3,000.  Glad to have helped a fellow carver.  The real isssue is how Steve has the spirit to recover & continue doing professional work under extreme unsettled circumstances"
