Flying Fish-
Speed = Quality
What?  How can speed equal quality?  Well,  the more you can carve in a given time frame, the better you can refine your ice sculpture during that time.  Precise efficient movements based on experience coupled with the right tools will make you faster!

 The above sculpture was created in 1 hour from 4 blocks of ice.  There were 13 pieces of ice used.  Fast by any standard.  By carving faster I was able to do more in a given time frame.  This point is so important, I am going to restate it-

Most of the above sculpture was made with a Bullet burr 125 on a large die grinder With a large shaft adapter.  If you don't have 1,I highly recommend it.  Here is a link to the kit- http://www.icesculptingtools.com/power_tool_kits.htm

This tool will change the way you carve period!
Years Ago I took Steve Brices anatomy carving class.  He is a very good anatomy ice sculptor (Maybe the best).  If you get a chance You might consider signing up yourself.

 On day 1 of the Workshop we all carved a male torso (Steve's design).  I was more than flattered on day 2 when he accidently grabbed mine (thinking it was his) to show the class a technique.  (If only I could sculpt my own abs like the ice ones) A bit of photoshopping was necessary to hide the real ones.
