About Rotary TAP

Rotarian's around the world are asked to use their connections and influence to improve the lives of others. You can use your talent, connections, and influence too to help others that are in need. Rotary TAP (Tanzanian Aqua Project) is dedicated to improving the lives of Tanzanians, by providing safe water collection systems in needed areas of Tanzania. Many of these communities currently collect their water from mud holes where animals drink, leaving their only water source contaminated with feces and bacteria, causing disease.

Children often must search for and carry water for miles, preventing them from attending school and obtaining the education they need to raise themselves out of the poverty and disease they are living in. TAP provides safe water distribution points at schools and churches in these needy Tanzanian communities, making it more possible for the children to continue their education.

Professional musicians, college music majors, and Rotary Clubs around the country are coming together to volunteer their time and money to make a difference and to improve the lives of those struggling in Tanzania.  Many are organizing donation concerts and other events to raise money for this project.

Our first project has identified two schools and one church in a small village in Tanzania who's needs are overwhelming.  We have a near by club in Tanzania overseeing the progress.  For only $36,000 we will be able to build three rain water collection systems that will provide enough water for 360 families forever.  That breaks down to only $100 per family, and making a difference in the entire communities future.

PAST ISSUES

Thank you for your joining me in support of this important project that is very close to me. I would like to give a special thanks to Eddie Daniels for allowing us to use a part of his recording of Blackwood at the end of the video above.  Please remember to never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has.
