In today's newsletter we are keeping you informed on ways to prevent expensive and delayed repairs, ordering products to try between now and the year end, and some exciting features that will be forthcoming on a new web site we are developing. Read on for more information.

Muncy Winds Repair Prevent Expensive & Delayed Repairs
Often we receive instruments for repair that have had no regular maintenance. Waiting until the instrument will not play or has a problem is simply too late. The musician may think that their instrument only needs the one torn pad that stopped the instrument from functioning. Then they find out the rest of the pads are only days away from tearing as well. Surprise, the expense is more than you expected and you are without the instrument for a longer period of time.

The best way to prevent these emergency repairs is to setup a regular maintenance schedule. Being pro active is always the best solution. Have the work performed on your schedule not ours. We are able to spot potential problems before they arise, saving you time and money. Scheduled maintenance will also extend the life of your instrument by keeping the instrument lubricated and adjusted properly.

TRYING PRODUCTS
Try Instruments, mouthpieces and more Trials: What You Should Know
Sometimes it is just not good enough to buy something sight unseen. You want that special unique instrument mouthpiece or barrel that is just right for you. That is why we offer merchandise trials on over 5,000 products we sell. Here are a few things to consider when trying products.

TIME: Most musicians are able to determine which product is right for them in less than an hour. First impressions are usually best and sometimes the help of a tutor or assistant listening to you is helpful. The longer you play the product the greater the chance of scratching or damage that would prevent us from accepting the product back as new inventory. We provide a two week trial period allowing you the time to arrange for a second pair of ears to listen.

CARE: It is important to take good care of the trial products you have from Muncy Winds. They are your responsibility until we receive them. You want to receive high quality products to try and we take that seriously. We inspect the products we ship to you and are aware of any manufacture variations that may exist. Damage while in your possession that may effect the performance or visual appearance may not be returned. So, it is a good idea to use mouthpiece patches and any other means of damage prevention. When trying saxophones it is a good idea to remove belt buckles or anything that could scratch the instrument. Keep wooden instruments in a well controlled environment and in a safe place.

TRY: Now is the best time to try merchandise. Why? Every December we must suspend our merchandise trial program until after January 1st so that we are able to take our year end inventory. Trials will be suspended on December 15, 2009 through December 31, 2009. Merchandise ordered for trial before December 15th must arrive at Muncy Winds before December 31, 2009 so that we may take inventory. You may wish to consider making an appointment during this time to try instruments in our studio. It is a great way to try a large number of instruments and have a technician available to assist you.
