Dear Everybody,

The frosty pine cones have lost their charm for me, so I'm switching to a more tropical format until Pentecost or so, whenever the snow melts.

Here's what we have for you this week:

Thank Offering grants are due here in the office on January 15.  You can download the application form from our home page--the link is right under the conference calendar.  Ignore the fact that it says "2009."

27 weeks and counting!  RYE, also known as Regional Youth Event, is on the calendar for July14-18, 2010.  Iowa youth (just completed 8th grade through graduated seniors) will head for Park University, Parkville, Mo for a fantastic experience that explores "Agape:  God's Love for Us All." Cost is $200 (split 3 ways: individual/church/association) plus transportation.
RYE also stands for Recruit Youth Everywhere.  Invite your youth to participate. Support them on their faith journey. Stay tuned for weekly updates.

Countryside Community Church in Omaha is offering a lecture on "The Myth of Post-Racialism" by the Rev. Dr. Susan Smith on January 24 at 7 p.m.  Here's a flyer; just highlight and paste this URL into your browser: http://countrysideucc.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Susan-Smith-Flyer5.pdf

New dates for Pilgrimage will be posted on our website later today.  You'll want to get them on your calendar!
