IT Works News
June 2010

Greetings

Campus

Summer is officially here and we hope everyone is keeping cool.  For many of you then end of June means the end of another fiscal year.  IT Works Accounting Software includes several tools to help you through the process.  This month's training article focuses on a new archiving feature that allows you to move old records out of your way in the live database.  We encourage you to contact us if you need a refresher on any of the other year end close procedures.  "Ah, summer, what power you have to make us suffer and like it." - Russel Baker

New Archive Transfer Feature

For many of you, it is getting close to the end of another fiscal year.  And, with the end of the year comes the process of closing out your fiscal year accounts and starting them afresh for the new fiscal.  Both IT Works Department Manager and College Administrator Accounting Modules include archiving procedures to help with this process.  In fact, these modules are designed to have both fiscal year accounts and grant accounts transactions archived annually.  This process was explained in our August 2009 E-News.

IT Works recently implemented a new archiving feature designed to help clients who are "behind" in the archiving / close of their terminated projects.  This new process deletes all transactions for these accounts from the active database and moves them to an archived database, there by freeing space in your main database and improving the overall speed and performance of the software.  To learn more about this process, click here.

Supplemental Training
Group Training

Did you know that on average, a university administrator changes jobs every three years?  That means that if you have been a client of IT Works for several years, there is a good chance that your department or institution has experienced some employee turnover since you first implemented our products.  What's more, your current employees may not have been trained by IT Works project management and training team.  As a result, they may not be utilizing all the capability provided by our software.   If this is the case for you and you would like to better train your staff, contact IT Works today and sign up for supplemental training.
