IT Works News
April 2010

Greetings

Spring UNC Quad
Spring is working hard at displacing the cold gloom of winter.  As the flowers begin to bloom, we hope that you to will continue your growth using IT Works.  This month we provide an overview of how to make use of the Scanner in our Equipment Inventory Module.  Our April Training feature focuses on a procedure that allows you to transfer data between the Grant and Accounting Modules.  Finally, we highlight our User's Group meeting in Baltimore on April 16th.  We hope our articles and services can provide you with tools to help you flourish.  As Thomas Edison once noted, "If we all did the things we are capable of, we would astound ourselves."

Two People Working
Transferring Data Between the Grant and Accounting Modules

At IT Works, we know your time is valuable and limiting the amount of it that is used for data entry, especially duplicate data entry, is important.  That is why the Department Manager Grant and Accounting Modules communicate to share information about your grants.  When you create a new account, data from an existing proposal in the grant module (such as the title, PI, and associated dates and budget information) can be transferred into the Accounting Module.

Struggling with annual asset inventory reports?  Our Equipment Inventory Module may be just the thing that you need.  Many of our clients use it, along with a bar code scanner, to automate the process of locating equipment, identifying missing assets, and generating annual inventory reports.  Let us know if our Equipment Inventory Module might be helpful for you.
