Managing F&A / Indirect Costs

IT Works software products are designed as a comprehensive research management solution.  From an accounting perspective, they not only help you manage every dollar spent directly conducting the research or other projects at your institution, but in addition, the Facility and Administrative costs (F&A), also known as Indirect Costs (IDC) or Overhead, that are incurred.  The IT Works Accounting Module helps monitor your F&A expenditures as well as computes F&A encumbrances for you.  To learn more about F&A costs and the management of them click here.

In mid 2009, IT Works announced the release of Effort Administrator, an Internet based, effort certification and reporting software solution designed for administrators and research faculty.  Effort Administrator can be implemented using imported payroll data, a time sheet data entry system, or with salary distribution records.  In all cases, it includes a multi-level certification system and produces certified effort statements. A Face with a Name

This month's Face with a Name series introduces you to our Senior Sales Associate Dana Smith. Dana is the Tigger in our Hundred Acre Woods in that she has boundless energy and smiles for everyone.  Dana has been sharing her zest for life at IT Works for over 5 years.

Born and raised in rural WI, Dana moved to Chicago at the age of 16 to be a nanny during the summer. After a brief stint in PA,  she went to CA and settled there for over 15 years selling software products.  While in CA, Dana met her east coast hubby and moved to Raleigh. She is now the proud mother of an awesome 6.5 year old son, Taylor, who is on the Autism spectrum.

Did you know? Dana loves to spend time with her family, cook (NOT baking), and play with her many pets.  What else?  Well, when Dana has a free moment, she also provides volunteer advocacy services to those with special needs children.
