Prorating Grant Reports
One of the biggest problems in grant management is dealing with the fact that grant budget periods rarely align with your fiscal year. This can make it complicated to determine how much money (in either active or pending grants) is available for the current fiscal year. Fortunately, both the Department Manager and College Administrator Grant Modules offer a prorating feature for helping with this problem. Learn more. |

| Blog |
Did you know that we offer further support, teaching and training to our clients via our blog? Our blog is designed primarily for financial and grant administrators at colleges, universities, research hospitals, and research institutes.
The current blog series is derived from a speech given by our President and CEO, Dr. Jim Wrenn at the Society of Research Administrators International Conference in Seattle, WA last month. This blog entitled "Research Scientists" discusses the role a research administrator plays in helping new faculty members initiate their research careers.
We also have other series of articles for your review that address topics such as department management problems, reporting issues, managing a grant pipeline, implementing software solutions, and more. Check it out here. |

A Face with a Name |
|
Our Face with a Name series continues as we introduce to you Kevin Purvis. Kevin is a Software Support Specialist and an integral part of the team here at IT Works. His reliability and integrity are beyond reproach. He consistently provides superior customer service to each of our clients. Kevin received his Bachelor's degree in computer science from NC State University. (Yes, we realize his blood does not bleed Carolina blue as it should.)
During Kevin's undergraduate studies, he spent over four months in Hiroshima, Japan in a study abroad program. This world traveler has seen many different countries including Germany, France, England, Italy, Japan, the Azores (islands off the coast of Portugal). What else? Well, Kevin is an enthusiast and is a kid at heart. Kevin always wears a smile on his face and has something positive to say. Not only is he an avid comic book reader, he enjoys playing video games as well.
