           Archiving Accounting Data
Would you like for your reports or searches to run a little quicker?  Are you finding yourself having to sift through terminated grants and accounts or old transactions in order to find the data you were searching for?  If so, you should consider archiving the data you have accumulated in IT Works Accounting Module.  Doing this will allow the software to function more efficiently and the tasks you perform to run a little faster.  There are several steps required to perform the archiving process.Click here to learn more.

Training Plans

Did you know that the IT Works web page contains numerous documents for end user training and software configuration?  They are great for learning about new features and training new employees.  Use the "Client Log In" button in the upper right corner of the home page to login and access them on our Customer Support page.  Then, select the Training Topics and Sample Training Plans Link under the Options heading to access a list of training topics.  The list is organized by module and the training documents are presented in PDF files.  For more information, browse around our web page or contact customer support.

A Face with a Name

Jim

Our "Face with a Name" series this month introduces you to IT Works President and CEO, Jim Wrenn.  Jim is a true southern gentleman and a native of NC.  You may have heard his distinctive twang during a product demonstration or training session.  When it comes to grant management, Jim is certainly an expert on the subject.

Did you know?  Jim received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from UNC Chapel Hill.  He launched IT Works out of his home in Chapel Hill in 1987.  At that time, it was a simple way to put food on the table.  Today, it is more about fulfilling his life purpose with a passion for software development in the research community.

Jim got his initiation into the grant management software business when he began working as a contract programmer for some UNC Chapel Hill clients.  His first jobs included programming grant and financial management tools on an as-needed basis.  Little did he realize that over the next 22 years, not only would he still work with his original clients but his company would install over 240 financial and grant management solutions in over 90 major universities and research hospitals in the U.S. and Canada.

When Jim isn't hard at work, he likes to spend time at his home, now in Raleigh, with his lovely wife Audrey and daughter Hadley.  He also enjoys the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, and boating.  Learn more.
