LINC RECEIVES GRANT OF
$1.8 MILLION OVER THREE YEARS
FROM THE KRESGE FOUNDATION

With support from The Kresge Foundation, LINC will continue to improve the information available about artists’ contributions to community building and to strengthen the national and local systems that support artists’ work.  The Kresge Foundation grant supports a $1 million grant fund that will ensure that the exemplary work already underway in diverse communities across the country through LINC’s Creative Communities program can continue to thrive and grow.  It will also support the commissioning and disseminating of useful knowledge on best practices for creating workspaces for artists and for enhancing artists’ access to health insurance – information that can benefit artists in any community.

NATHAN CUMMINGS FOUNDATION
COMMITS $75,000 TO SUPPORT
LINC'S WORK ADDRESSING HEALTH INSURANCE AND HEALTH CARE
FOR ARTISTS

The support of The Nathan Cummings Foundation is an important affirmation of the ongoing work that responds to the national crisis of affordable health insurance and health care.  At a time when 40% of the artists in the United States do not have adequate health insurance and even more are worried about losing their existing coverage, LINC, in partnership with the Actors Fund of America, continues  to connect artists with the information they need to identify affordable and sustainable options for health insurance and health care. In addition to support for the Artists Health Insurance Resource Center (www.AHIRC.org), The Nathan Cummings Foundation supports www.ArtistsUnitedforHealthCare.org, a site that offers information about the current policy discussion taking place nationally and locally concerning health care reform.
