Now is the time to get up to speed and receive a disability quote from the UFAA sponsored Disability Plan- Holmes Murphy for your 2013 disability coverage.

The impact disabilities have on individuals can vary greatly from being a short term adjustment, to a life long lifestyle change. Have you thought about the effect that a serious illness or debilitating accident would have on your every day life and retirement planning?
Individual Disability Income Insurance from Principal Insurance can help protect your ability to receive income if you have a qualifying disability so that you don't have to rely on your hard-earned savings to cover daily living expenses. This policy is non-cancellable and has guaranteed premium rates for the duration of the policy. It also protects you if you are unable to work in your occupation - unlike similar policies that only pay benefits if you are unable to work in any occupation. Additional features also include future increase opportunities without medical underwriting, residual disability benefits if you are not totally disabled, and cost of living adjustments to keep up with inflation. Finally, these benefits are tax-free upon distribution when you pay your premiums with after-tax dollars.
A Business Overhead Expense Policy from Principal Insurance is also non-cancellable and has guaranteed premium rates for the duration of the policy. This policy reimburses you for covered business expenses such as rent, salaries, utilities, loan payments, etc. while you are sick or too injured to work. The competitive product design includes several built-in benefit components as well as optional riders to help you customize your policy to best fit your individual needs. Riders include a future increase opportunity, residual disability benefits, and business loan protection.
If you would like more information about the Disability Program, please email Holmes Murphy & Associates at voluntarybenefits@holmesmurphy.com. When emailing voluntarybenefits@holmesmurphy.com with an inquiry or request for a quote, please declare as to whether you are a UFAA Member, a UFAA Affiliate, a Farmers Agent or a District Manager. This will save a lot of time in the initial question answer response portion.
*The policies are individually underwritten and end at age 70.*

Your Farmers Agent Medical Plan is getting a rebate from Aetna
Only some states are receiving rebates from Aetna. Although Oklahoma is not shown in the reference material for a rebate, the Farmers Agents Benefits plan is based in California that does qualify you for a rebate if you or your dependents or employees had coverage in the plan during 2011.
However, some agents have reported to the Oklahoma Voice they received a letter from Home Office Benefits stating The Farmers plan did receive a rebate from Aetna in the amount of $225,856,000 or .04% equaling the amount overcharged in 2011. Farmers advises they will not rebate this to the policyholders. Instead, they will use what equals .03% of the (Farmers subsidized) rebated amount to reduce the policyholder rates on the 2013 medical plan which is permissible within the Affordable Health Care Act regulations. (only the Agents are subsidized, not dependents/employees.)
But, there is a problem here! If you or a family member [dependent] or employee dropped out the Farmers Medical Plan anytime during the 2011 plan year or anytime during the 2012 plan year for a qualified status change, that person(s) will not see the rebate applied to the 2013 rates as they are simply no longer a policyholder of the plan.
Farmers should send a rebate to these policyholders direct. For those dependents and employees that did not have their premiums subsidized by Farmers, they or perhaps you the agent should receive .04%, not .03%, if the agent paid all of the premium and did not charge the employee/dependent the full cost. (otherwise, the rebate will be shared) We will follow up with the Oklahoma Insurance Dept to insure that Farmers does the right thing on this issue. -ed Pulse of the Agents Poll - Sept. issue
If you had Aetna Medical coverage with Farmers in 2011, has Farmers Benefits notified you with a rebate check or applied it to future medical premiums?
I got a rebate check! 0% Farmers applied rebate to future 2012 premiums 0% They stated they would apply to 2013 premiums 44%
I qualify but have heard nothing from Farmers 56% |

Chapter 15 and the Oklahoma Voice welcomes Trinity Wireless as our newest advertiser.
Unlimited Nationwide 4G DATA TALK TEXT Phone Service $49/mo.
Trinity Wireless offers a better way to get mobile service at a great price - plus the opportunity to earn when you share.
Opportunity for Yourself/Opportunity for Others
Trinity Wireless works because relationships work. People inherently want to share, and technology makes that easier to do every day.
Why We're Different
We think a person's voice is the most powerful form of marketing, so that's what we want to invest in. While other companies spend billions on traditional marketing, we reward you for sharing Trinity Wireless with your connections.
Opportunity for Yourself
We put you in charge of what you pay for mobile service, and simply making the switch to Trinity Wireless is the first step to spending less: $49 a month for Unlimited Voice, Text, and Data.
It gets even better.
You can earn money just for sharing Trinity Wireless with others. As your network of connections grows-both through your actions, and the actions of each person who joins because of you-you can even make a profit every month.
"We" Is Better Than "Me"
We focus on relationships because everyone benefits when more people can take initiative and build their communities. Now more than ever, each person has the power to make something bigger than themselves. So it's not about charity or self-sacrifice; it's about knowing that we succeed best when we have opportunities to do more for ourselves and others. Trinity Wireless is one of those opportunities.

A minister was asked to dinner by one of his parishioners. The churchgoer was known for being a terrible housekeeper.
When the minister sat down at the table, he noticed the dishes were the dirtiest he had ever seen in his life.
"Have these dishes ever been washed?" he asked the hostess, running his fingers over the filthy dishes.
She replied, "They're as clean as soap and water could get them."
He felt a bit apprehensive but said grace and started eating. It was quite delicious, despite the dirty dishes.
When dinner was over, the hostess took the dishes outside, whistled and yelled, "Here, Soap! Here, Water!"

Farmers Insurance Announces 2013 Tournament Of Roses Parade Will Feature First Live Wedding
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) - Not everyone can be Kate Middleton and have a fairytale wedding watched by millions of people on TV and online. But one lucky couple could still score a comparable TV audience and a free wedding if they win a contest announced Monday by Farmers Insurance. Farmers Insurance is searching via its Facebook page for a couple to get married aboard the company's "Love Float," which will be a part of the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year's Day. The company expects the couple to have more than 50 million witnesses made up of television viewers and parade goers. Besides the very unique experience of getting married on top of a Rose Parade float, the winning couple will get a trip to Pasadena for themselves and up to six friends, a wedding dress for the bride and a tuxedo for the groom, his and hers wedding rings, hair and makeup services for the bride, marriage license fees and - most importantly - two tickets to the 2013 Rose Bowl game for the couple. One of the couple's wedding photos will be used in one of Farmer's national advertisements. Four finalists will receive a $500 gift card from the company. To be eligible, couples must be legal residents of the United States (except Alaska, Idaho, Indiana, Maine, New Hampshire and New Jersey), 21 and older and not currently married. Couples must also meet all California state marriage license requirements. The deadline to enter is Oct. 14. |

Effective November 1, 2012 the NEW exam will be implemented.
