Charges Anticipated Against Customer Services Rep. Suspected loss over $270,000 Oklahoma Insurance Department 04/11/2012 OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak announced today that the Anti-Fraud Unit of the Insurance Department is investigating the misappropriation of funds by a former employee of twelve years at the Oklahoma County branch of Farm Bureau. The former employee is being investigated by the Insurance Department after a suspected loss of over $270,000 was discovered by an internal Farm Bureau auditing process. The Insurance Department was immediately notified when it was discovered that alleged office expenses were not substantiated by receipts. Designation of Customer Service Representative has been suspended by the Insurance Department and a Hearing on Revocation is set for April 23rd for the former employee's license
Doak said that, with his office's new approach to fraud investigation, he expects more of these |

instances to be discovered and prosecuted.
Additional Charges of Exploitation of the Elderly Filed Against Virden
TULSA-Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak announced that addition charges have been filed in Kay County against Marshall Virden. A subsequent arrest warrant has been issued and bond set at $50,000 for a single count of Exploitation of an Elderly Person by Trick or Deception. Assistant District Attorney Ed Goodman of Kay County filed the charge. Oklahoma Insurance Department investigators found that Virden had gained the confidence of a couple residing in Ponca City during an investor's seminar in 2007. Virden used his existing relationship as their insurance agent to convince them to cash in their annuities, claiming he would use the money to purchase silver for the victims. The investigation revealed that no silver was bought for the victims and that Virden had instead embezzled over $23,000 of the victim's money. |

Greetings!

Health Insurance Companies could owe consumers big refunds this summer, thanks to the new healthcare law! One Aetna company is estimated to owe $46 million to customers nationwide. That's real money back in your pockets. [Aetna handles the Farmers Agents Group Health Plan -ed] Savings are adding up in states too. A WellPoint insurer in Missouri may pay out $29 million to individual and small-business policyholders. And Florida small-businesses using Blue Cross Blue Shield are expecting $45 million in refunds - a boost to struggling entrepreneurs. But lobbyists are still trying to undermine this law. Next week House members will take up a bill that will scale back rate cuts and refunds. And your state Insurance Commissioner who helps enforce the law is under pressure to back off as well. Let the law work! Tell your leaders to support insurance rate cuts and refunds. Getting a handle on insurance costs is critical for our nation. Insurers now can't spend more than 20 percent of your premium on their administrative costs, CEO salaries and excessive profits. Spend more, and they must lower rates or refund the difference. Our early analysis found this incentive is working. Countless insurance companies are spending more of your dollars on needed medical care and less on their overhead. And we're discovering more expected refunds and savings each day. Unfortunately, these savings are under attack right now! Take action now. Insurance companies hate the idea of giving your money back. Make sure they're held to it by having your friends and family join you in taking action. Refunds are due this summer. It's your money, fight for it! Sincerely, DeAnn Friedholm, YourHealthSecurity.org Consumers Union, policy and action from Consumer Reports 506 W. 14th St., Suite A Austin, TX 78701 |

1200 Farmers Employees Transfer to Woodland hills - Home of 21st Century
The transfer of all 1,200 Farmers Insurance employees from the company's Simi Valley office to the San Fernando Valley has been completed, yet there is no new tenant in sight for the largest available office building in Ventura County.
The final 400 employees transferred from the 240,000-square-foot structure to the Woodland Hills office last month. Eight hundred others transferred in July. "We no longer have any employees at the Simi Valley location," Lonnie Sproat, Farmers' vice president of service operations, said last week.
The insurer had been in Simi Valley for nearly three decades and was the city's second largest private employer. In 2010, it decided to move to Woodland Hills after acquiring 21st Century Insurance Co., which had an available 217,000-square-foot building.
Farmers has been working for the better part of two years with Simi Valley officials and building owner Capital Lease Funding Inc., a New York-based real estate investment company, to find a new tenant or tenants.
The insurer is highly motivated in its search because it is locked into a lease for the building through 2017. Farmers used to own the building at 3041 Cochran St., which was built in the early 1980s on 12.8 acres. The company sold it in 2005 to generate cash.
There are no solid prospects, Sproat said. "We have been able to show it to numerous potential prospects, but there's no negotiations going on or anything that's active," Sproat said. "We're very flexible in looking at all options and our ability to sublease it out."

Farmers Insurance Debuts Marvel's The Avengers Campaign SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2012. Farmers Insurance is launching a campaign with Marvel's The Avengers to promote its partnership with the highly anticipated summer blockbuster set to premiere on May 4, 2012. Developed by advertising agency RPA, the campaign features actor J.K. Simmons as the illustrious Professor Nathaniel Burke, with his usual six sidekick agents dressed up in homemade Marvel's The Avengers costumes touting, "We're the superheroes of insurance!" "This opportunity lets us have some Super Hero fun with our established University of Farmers characters and shine some Hollywood limelight on our brand."
"Being associated with the much-anticipated Marvel's The Avengers gives Farmers advertising super-powers," said John Ingersoll, vice president, advertising of Farmers Group, Inc. "This opportunity lets us have some Super Hero fun with our established University of Farmers characters and shine some Hollywood limelight on our brand." In the TV spot, "Suit Up" (:30), directed by Roman Coppola, Professor Burke and the agents explore the similarities between being a Super Hero and being a super agent. The spot continues with a lighthearted exchange between Professor Burke and his agents, dressed in do-it-yourself costumes representing each of Marvel's The Avengers' characters: The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow and Hawkeye. A print ad by Marvel Custom Solutions recreates the TV spot in comic book form and will run in select Marvel comic books in May and June. "'Suit Up' marks the 20th spot in a campaign that has been very fun to develop. Every agent that steps onto the University of Farmers campus comes away with a ridiculous amount of insurance knowledge, so it's only natural to see our agents turn to super agents at this stage in the game," said Tom Hamling, creative director at RPA. A 2-minute 30-second behind-the-scenes video interviews costume designers, the prop team, and the super agents about incorporating Marvel's The Avengers into the University of Farmers spot. To extend the campaign on Facebook, six hand-drawn "how-to" diagrams will be posted to help fans recreate the Marvel's The Avengers costumes as seen in the TV spot. The behind-the-scenes video will live on Farmers' YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/farmers) and will be posted to Farmers' Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FarmersInsurance) with the six "how-to" diagrams. |

New Life Marketing letter!
Dear Mr Jones:
As I was asked to review your account and explain the cost difference, and suggest any changes that might help your situation. You are on EFT, and the discount dropped from 10% to 7%, your renters discount changed from 10% down to 3%. We took a base rate increase of over 4% and your zip code took a rate increase of almost 20%. Also, you had a speeding ticket from 2010 and that surcharge is now on your policy.
The only discount that you currently do not have, but could be eligible for, is the Life Insurance discount. I strongly suggest that you apply for $250,000 of Life insurance, because when you see your next renewals you will probably die with a heart attack.

An Obituary printed in the London Times LONDON = February 7, 2012 Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: - Knowing when to come in out of the rain; - Why the early bird gets the worm; - Life isn't always fair; - And maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault. Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, launched a lawsuit and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death,-by his parents, Truth and Trust,-by his wife, Discretion,-by his daughter, Responsibility,-and by his son, Reason. He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers; - I Know My Rights - I Want It Now - Someone Else Is To Blame - I'm A Victim- Pay me for Doing Nothing Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

|
THE PROMISES?:
Farmers CEO Jeff Dailey quoted from the January, 2012 Farmers National Broadcast: -Stable pricing- premium increases to continue, but will be measured and timely, no big price swings up or down.
-Better customer retention.
-Customer loyalty pricing through reasonable, competitive, and stable pricing
-Discounts directed at retaining policyholders instead of attracting new customers.
THE RESULTS?: Oklahoma auto rates up 3% while home rates are hiked 25% over next 4 months.
Dear Okie Voice, FYI- Oklahoma will be having the following rate increases: Auto- 3% effective 05/28/2012 for new business and effective 06/26/2012 for renewals. Home- You already know about the 4/16/2012, I assume, with a flat 10% increase. Plus, you already know about 06/16/2012 increasing the deductible on all homeowner policies to a 1% W&H deductible, with a buy-back option if wanted. Well, effective 08/16/2012 on homeowner policies they will have another increase with an average 15% increase. It will vary according to the territory, of course. Sorry to give you such news, but somebody had to be the bearer of the news good or bad. The good news is for the clients we keep, we will get a pretty good pay raise. For the ones we don't, HELLO charge backs! I also have asked when these deductible requirements take effect on new business, but I haven't received a reply yet.
 | Effective June 16, 2012: Wind and Hail (W&H) on Next Gen, P+ and Special policies will renew with a 1% deductible of coverage A, the Dwelling, not 1% of the claim amount. Landlords to go $2500AP
Yet, as shown on the NAIC Ranking for #3 Zurich/Farmers, on our home page this month, their losses vs. Earned Premium is less than 60%- far better than the top ten U.S. P&C companies.
AP in graph above = All Peril
However, This change may be found discriminatory to policyholders due to the conditions noted.
|
Regardless of the current deductible, all landlord policies go to $2500 deductible on ALL losses. A buy-back option will be available on dashboard for all policies noted above.Okie Agent .
Thanks Okie Agent. This is what Andy Andrews spoke about during his visit to Tulsa last week and relates to this on his andyandrews.com website with his newly released book "How to kill 11 million people?" THE REASON: Promises do not match Results? Andy Andrews believes that good answers come from asking good questions. Through the powerful, provocative question, "How do you kill eleven million people?"-the number of people killed by the Nazi German regime between 1933 and 1945- he explores a number of other questions relevant to our lives today: Does it matter that millions of Americans have checked out of participating in the [voting] decisions that shape the future of the United States?
What is more dangerous: politicians with ill intent, or the too-trusting population that allows such people to lead them? How are we supposed to tell the difference between the "good guys" and the "bad guys?" How do truth and lies in the past affect our destiny as a nation? What happens to a society in which truth is absent? Andrew's issues a wake-up call to voters across the political spectrum: become informed, passionate citizens who demand honesty and integrity from our leaders, or suffer the consequences of our own ignorance and apathy. Furthermore, we can no longer measure a leader's worth by the yardsticks provided by the left or the right. Instead, we must use an unchanging standard: the pure, unvarnished truth. I believe Andy Andrew's statements and questions also apply heavily to our business as they do to political relationships. So, How do you kill 11 million people or businesses? According to Andy-
Simply, "LIE TO THEM"!
Perhaps, You and UFAA should buy Andy's book that takes 15 minutes to read and send it to our executive management team and let them know we are ON to their game. -ed
