John Doak, 47, a past Farmers Agent spoke at the UFAA Chapter 15 luncheon on Wednesday August 4th.  Below are some of his comments. We are passing this information to you and solicit your support for his candidacy for Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner. Timing is critical as Doak will face John Crawford, 78, in a run off state-wide election on Tuesday Aug. 24th. That's this Tuesday!

John Doak has spent most of his adult life providing insurance options to Oklahomans, particularly in the Tulsa area.

After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1989, John started his own Farmer's Insurance Agency in Tulsa.  For the next six years, John ran his  business receiving numerous awards and commendations from Farmer's Insurance for the effectiveness of his agency.

After leaving Farmer's Insurance, John began working on the executive level in the insurance industry. John has served as an executive at Marsh, Aon Risk Services, HNI Risk Services, and Ascension Insurance, where he was senior vice president of acquisitions. John's experience from the branch level to the board room gives him an understanding of the insurance industry that few can match. John knows how insurance works and as insurance commissioner he'll work with the industry and advocate for common-sense solutions to insurance issues.

John lives in Tulsa with his wife, Debby, and their two children, Zack and Kasey. The Doaks have long been involved in Tulsa civic life with John serving as a former board member for the Tulsa Ronald McDonald house, Tulsa Opera and Dillon International Adoption Agency. John also has served as a member of the Oklahoma Governor's Round Table for Business Development.

I believe Oklahoma needs real conservatives at all levels of government if our state is going to come through the difficult times we face. Where I stand:
  • Passionately pro-life
  • Value the principles of lower costs through open markets and fair competition
  • Opposed to federally mandated insurance
  • Only candidate in the race for insurance commissioner who has joined a federal lawsuit against ObamaCare
  • Believe health care reform should take place on the state level and that the States have the power to set their own policies and reject misguided federal mandates
  • Will work closely with Oklahoma lawmakers and insurance providers to identify and implement health care solutions at the state level
  • Instead of mandated coverage, I will increase options for private consumers
  • Advocate for buying insurance across state lines and for association health plans
  • Pro business
  • Member of the National Rifle Association
  • Have lead the way against House Bill 2437, the 1% tax on health insurance claims paid in Oklahoma
  • Opposed to Senate Bill 1556, which increases the fee for obtaining driving records from $10 to $25 - the highest in the nation

UFAA Chapter President, Mike Gately stated, "Finally, John Doak is a person we can sit down with and discuss issues with expected action results."

Following the meeting, several UFAA Members stated they plan to immediately join John Doak's campaign with monetary contributions after discovering Commissioner Holland served as an Obama delegate representing Oklahoma at the 2008 Democratic Convention. You can bring John Doak one step closer into the Commissioner's Office with your support and vote on August 24th. The winner of that election will face current Commissioner Kimberly Holland in November.

John Doak is facing an August 24, 2010 statewide runoff vote that will likely hit an all time low in voter turnout. The reason: his, and John Crawford's race, is the only one on the ballot for all 77 counties.

If agent's receiving this would pass it on to friends, family and clients would be of extreme help to the Doak Campaign. This Tuesday's Aug 24th run off election will be scarce of voters with the state-wide ballot only involving Doak and Crawford. If this email contributes just a few hundred voters for Doak, that may just be the advantage needed. Pass it on....and mark your calendar to vote This Tuesday Aug. 24th in the Republican run off election for Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner.

GOVERNOR MIKE HUCKABEE AND HUCK PAC ENDORSE JOHN DOAK FOR OKLAHOMA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER

Huckabee Releases Statement About Doak's Bid In Oklahoma

August 17, 2010

Little Rock, AR - Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement about John Doak:

"Huck PAC and I are proud to endorse John Doak for Insurance Commissioner of Oklahoma. John and I agree that Oklahoma needs true conservatives at all levels of government. John is ready to lead now - and will work to advocate for the common-sense solutions to insurance problems for the betterment of all in Oklahoma.

John is passionately pro-life, shares our social values and is opposed to federally mandated insurance - in fact, he's the only candidate in this race who has joined a federal lawsuit against Obamacare. John is also leading the way against the 1% tax on health insurance claims paid in Oklahoma, a fight which will help bring businesses back to Oklahoma and make Oklahoma more business friendly.

Please join me in supporting John Doak for insurance commissioner for Oklahoma."
