Greetings! Farmersagent.com Updates Spamware You must take WHITELIST action on your email settings
Recently updated spam filtering programs at USA.NET, the vendor that handles farmersagent.com
email caused some problems when blocking several spammers addresses that have assaulted the
agency force with spam messaging. Some HTML formatted messages were included in
the update. Unfortunately, the Oklahoma Voice Newsletter may now be treated as spam as it
is an HTML document. This is likely the reason some may not have received the
October issue of the Oklahoma Voice Newsletter via your email address @farmersagent.com
To ensure you receive future copies of the Oklahoma Voice, you are strongly encouraged to confirm your continued interest in receiving future email newsletter issues. You may easily do this by returning to the top of this newsletter and choosing the CONFIRM link of continued interest in receiving this newsletter.
ISPs also advise to follow the instructions below to WHITELIST the senders name and email address shown at the top of this email. Here is a simple 1 minute solution. Go to your farmers email
account on dashboard by clicking the envelope at the top of the main page near
the Farmers logo.
1. From the menu on the left side under SERVICES, select WHITE
LIST FILTERING.
2. On the WHITE LIST FILTERING PAGE activate the check mark
box stating Include email addresses from my Contacts as part of my White
List.
3. Click the activate button.
4. Now select ADDRESS BOOK from the menu on the left side of
page. Then select PERSONAL ADDRESS BOOK.
5. At the top right of the CONTACTS page select NEW CONTACT
icon. A security warning (perhaps two) may pop up- just select YES to
continue.
6. On the NEW CONTACT page type Keith in the
fist name box and Kraft in the last name box. In the PREFERRED
EMAIL box type keith.kraft@gmail.com (Note the dot between the first and last name.)
7. Select SAVE in the upper Left corner.
8. Members will also want to whitelist these domains: Directmail@ufaa.com and ufaadirect@cbnstl.com for important member updates. For UFAA sponsored E&O program you should whitelist kevin@dahlkeinsurance.com and Kevin@groupeando.com
That's it. You should now receive the Oklahoma Voice and other whitelisted emails in your
farmersagent.com inbox. You should also take whitelist action on other email accounts where you receive our issues as all ISPs are tightening their spam detection. Depending on other personal email settings on your
account, the Oklahoma Voice and other desired email could be placed in your spam, bulk or trash file. You will
want to check these regularly.
Should you ever miss a copy of the Oklahoma Voice or want to review a past issue just go to the www.ufaa.com website > Publications tab > Chapter Newsletters. You may also review past issues on our home page link located in the Oklahoma UFAA Contacts section above or at the home page link at the bottom of the newsletter.

Attitudes of Agent Frustration
Reply- Even a lizard or a
Progressive Lady will not help us. I wish they would take any advertising money
and lower our rates. What good does it do to advertise if our rates are too
embarrassing to tell the clients. We are out of the home and auto business. I
really can't figure out why they just don't shut us down. They obviously don't
want to sell any insurance. I just talked to a client whose homeowner renewal
went from $1100 to $2600. How can I justify an increase of that magnitude? Reply- I know advertising at this point wont help us sell an overpriced product, but
their ads are clever, much more than ours, and I'm sure more people check those
companies out. It seems like we're wasting money with our ads, that was my
point. What really irritates me is the contest our state office has for seats at
the Sprint Center in the executive suite or at a major league sporting event.
Lets cut something out at the top, we're suffering but corporate still enjoys
those types of luxuries. The agents have felt the loss, maybe corporate should.
We cant justify the increases, we can hope everyone else will follow suit and
then we'll be competitive. I have no answers just weathering the storm.
Reply- I really enjoy reading all of
these posts and I am as frustrated as any of you, perhaps more so because after
giving thirty five years of my life to this company, they have me on the DARG
program. I am afraid we are all just "bitching to the choir". We need to find a
way of getting to the upper management with our frustrations, and it has to be
done "en masse". Sure, they say we "old timers" don't get out there knocking on
doors. Why should we have to??? We've paid our dues. I want to be left along to
manage my agency as the independent contractor I am supposed to be. I take good
care of my clients. Some have been with me since the beginning. Maybe some kind
of nationwide petition or something needs to be started. I have never seen
anything like what is going on with this company. They could not destroy a
company any better if they tried... Maybe that is what they want? Any
ideas?
Reply- I don't understand DARG, I
thought they did away with it. It sounds like age discrimination to me. You cant
help claims, you don't control how others drive or the weather. You cant be
responsible for pricing as well. I would ask for assistance from the district
and the state office to turn the agency around, there are dept's (?) that get paid
to do that. I only thought we could be fired for embezzlement or abandonment, is
this wrong? Get a lawyer & review your contract.

Who is to"BLAME"for the bad mouthing & poor press?
Blame is easy to push upon others. However, others will not always readily accept it.
There are perceived problems with Farmers Insurance, internally for the most part but, over time the problems have leaked out to our policyholders through rates, billings and changes and now being solicited and printed in rating surveys released to the media. Our ratings from such well known companies as J D Powers and Consumer reports have slid over the years to an embarrassing level for our company and your agency. PIF has dropped territory wide and many of our dedicated clients have become turncoats- jumping to the competition- Justifiably, we might add. The Agents and DMs say, "Don't blame us as we have little, if any, control over the operation of the companies. We are Independent contractors controlled by bulletins, computer programs and manipulated as employees." Perhaps.
The brass responds, "It's not our fault as the media surveys were taken in geographically weak operation areas or the survey numbers were too small to reveal correct results." Perhaps.
So, just whose fault is it? Review the 2009 J D Power and Consumer Reports policyholder surveys below and you decide. Then, at the end of this subject series, we will ask a question in the Pulse of the Agents Poll as to who is to blame.
|

Comparing the year over year JD Power Homeowner Studies, the industry average improvement was 21 points on a 1,000 point scale from 752 points in 2008 to 773 points in 2009. Farmers improved from 745 last year to 749, or 4 points, in the current study. You may view individual company Homeowner Insurance category rankings here.

Comparing the year
over year JD Power Auto Studies, the industry improved 14 points on a 1,000
point scale from 787 points in 2008 to 801 points in 2009. Farmers
improved from 777 last year to 797, or 20 points in the current study. Also, note the 21st Century rating. You may view individual company auto insurance category rankings here.
|
Comparing the year
over year JD Power Shopping Studies, the industry fell 2 points on a 1,000
point scale from 867 points in 2008 to 865 points in 2009. Farmers
maintained their poor rating of 849 points last year losing 6 points to 843 in the current study. According to
Powers, companies below 865 points fall below the industry average. Also, note the 21st Century rating. You may view Individual company category rankings here.

The above Farmers ratings are not very complimentary to your agency or future.
So, here's your chance to push the blame to others or take it on the chin wherever you believe the blame should be placed. You can do it in this months ...

Greetings!
UFAA Sponsored E&O Enrollment is Gone for 2009
ENROLL NOW FOR THE 2010 UFAA GROUP E&OWhy should you change coverage after all these years? MANY AGENCIES HAVE SAVED MONEY....ALL GOT COVERAGE NOT OFFERED IN THE FARMERS COMPANY SPONSORED GROUP E&O INSURANCE PLAN**What coverage?Few agents are aware that when your agency writes a Farmers policy, your coverage under the Farmers Group E&O coverage EXCLUDES ERRORS- and resulting exclamations such as- ah-oh, oops, darnit, ah, ahem, boo, egad, er,
golly-darn, hello?, hey,
jeepers, ouch, phooey, pooh, shucks, ugh, and um- when
you fail to provide an available coverage that was within your binding
authority that would have met underwriting guidelines and would have
covered your insured's loss.This
is not only applies to NB but, to policy revisions, rewrites, and most
any other action that omits a coverage necessary to protect your
customer.
What Happens Then ?Once your FARMERS E&O claim is excluded you have to ask Farmers to
"retroactively reform" your insured's policy to collect back premium and
provide coverage to your insured.
Per Farmers own statements Farmers has no written obligation to
pay your loss. Your
excluded E&O claim is then decided on a case by case basis by Farmers,
rather than by the insurance laws of your state or E&O policy you paid for. There
are documented cases where Farmers has refused to pay these losses and
the agent involved was exposed to all defense and settlement costs.
For this and many other reasons, every day more Farmers agents move
their
E&O to the New Group E&O plan
for better low cost coverage that applies to all your retail agency
business, providing benefits that aren't linked to your Farmers
appointment
agreement with an insurer that represents only you.Go to http://www.groupeando.com
for your online Quick Quote
and a coverage summary
Renewal rates are not
expected to change & the renewing agents will NOT be required to pay for the
$100 loss control as this for the first year only. An additional savings over the Farmers E&O Plan. Have you received your 2010 E&O renewal email? If not, contact-

21st Century LeadsAgent Benefit or Free Auto Policy Service?
A California agent writes, "In case you haven't seen this- attached is an article
that appears in the October issue of Best Review on Farmers and 21st Century. I
have also attached some pages showing auto volume by various companies." A review of the 6 pages was enlightening and useful background info with 21st Century beginning is 1966 and doubling premiums for several years until they broke a $billion in auto premiums in 1993.
The downside is told in most of the 55 online complaints by current and x-clients that target 21st Century's apparent poor customer service and claims handling as shown in the JD Power ratings above. The questions that pops up in the reader's mind is-
1. Will Farmers Agents will be asked by referred lead clients to service their 21st auto without commissions and direct policy access? 2. Is this just a candy-coated disguised lead benefit that transfers more costs to the Farmers Agents obligated to field service the auto problems to save the related written policies? 3. If 21st Century creates problems or questions for thier clients, just who do you think the client will call next? 4. If you are able (?) to provide a great 21st auto customer experience, who will the client begin calling first- for FREE auto policy service?

Farmers Insurance Unveils iClaims Application
for Customers
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 -- Meeting the needs of its customer's
mobility, Farmers Insurance
Group today unveiled its new iClaims application for customers who use an iPhone
or iTouch . The new iClaims app allows Farmers customers to immediately file an
insurance claim, no matter where they may be - even at the scene of a traffic
accident. The secure application is free to Farmers customers.
(Logo:
http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20080605/LATH062)
"The new iClaims application allows Farmers Insurance to
enhance its already excellent customer service 24-hours a day, seven days a
week," said Bryan Murphy, Farmers Insurance Chief Claims Officer. "With more and
more people using their iPhone to meet the demands of everyday life, the Farmers
Insurance application provides instant service when our customers need it the
most."
Farmers customers' agent information can be permanently
stored so that they are just a click away from contacting their agent for
immediate service. With the use of the iClaims app, a customer is in instant
contact with a Farmers HelpPoint representative. Pictures can be taken at the
scene of an accident and then emailed . This allows for faster claims
processing.
In addition, the application also allows Farmers to alert
customers when severe weather is threatening; find
Farmers vendors and services; and lets customers take a photo inventory of their
home and store or email the pictures from their iPhone or iTouch.
To get the iClaims application: Go to the App Store from an
iPhone or iTouch (requires WiFi connectivity), select the search button, type in
Farmers, and from the result list select the Farmers iClaim application. From
the iClaims description page select the install button. It's that simple and
there is no computer required. Alternatively you can go to the iTunes App Store
from your computer and search for "Farmers." Click on the iClaims application,
from the description select the "get app" button, and the next time the customer
syncs the iPhone or iTouch, the application will be installed.
Get more information and a link to the app by visiting
www.Farmers.com or find it on a local your Farmers agent's website. Source: The Auto Channel 10/15/09
