Keep your tax dollars right here

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit allows you to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state income tax when you give to a qualifying charity that serves the working poor. Our Family is a qualifying charity.

This tax credit is completely separate from the Private School Tuition and Public School Activity tax credits -- you may participate in any or all three if you choose.

For those filing a single tax return, your tax credit can be up to $200; for those filing jointly, it's up to $400.

The amount you donate, up to these limits, will be deducted from the tax liability you owe the state. This means the money you pay in taxes can benefit your community through an organization that you choose!

Here's what to do:

1. Donate to Our Family, either online or by sending a check.

2. Prepare an itemized state tax return.

3. Complete Arizona Tax Form 321 and include it with your state return.

Any cash contribution to Our Family in 2011 through any method qualifies for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit.

Our Family is thankful for friends like you

boy with familyAs we all stop to count our blessings this time of year, Our Family
Services would like to extend a special thank you to the caring community that helps us serve the neediest among us.

Through direct services such as counseling, housing, case management and mediation, or through information and referral services that help people find the resources they need, Our Family's programs touched the lives of more than 25,000 people in Southern Arizona last year. None of this is possible without your support.

With your help:

85% of the young people ages 13-17 in our Reunion House shelter exited the program to safe and appropriate settings within 21 days.

73% of our at-risk older and disabled clients in the Community Services System were still living independently in a community setting a year after enrollment.

63% of the formerly homeless young mothers in our CommonUnity program obtained their GED or diploma.

100% of the K-5 students in our La Escuelita education and prevention program in South Tucson were reading at or above grade level.

84% of mediations by our Community Mediation program resulted in an agreement.

98% of families successfully completing our In-Home counseling and case management program remained intact and their children safe within six months of case closure.

90% of clients receiving friendly visits from one of our Senior Companion volunteers showed an increase in activity levels and decrease in depression within six months. Watch this video.

Thank you for helping Our Family make this community a better place to live, to grow up, and to grow older. From Our Family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
