Dear Friend of Mediation: Community Mediation began in 1979, using trained volunteer mediators to help people resolve conflicts without traditional court, police or legal interventions. As Community Mediation celebrates its 30th anniversary, we are extremely proud of the many volunteers who have contributed to building a more peaceful community. We want to thank you for your support and let you know about some ways you can help make sure Community Mediation continues for another 30 years. Give Directly to Community Mediation:
Did you know you can donate directly to Community Mediation? Here's how:
Send a check to Our Family Services (3830 E. Bellevue St., Tucson AZ, 85716) with Community Mediation in the memo line. Or simply donate online by credit card. Choose "I want to support Community Mediation" from the drop-down menu under Gift Designation.
Dedicate Your Tax Dollars to Mediation:
Any cash contribution to Community Mediation in 2009 through any method qualifies for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit.
The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit allows you to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state income tax when you give to a qualifying charity that serves the working poor. Our Family is a qualifying charity. For those filing a single tax return, your tax credit can be up to $200; for those filing jointly, it's up to $400. This means the money you pay in taxes can benefit your community through an organization that you choose! The amount you donate, up to these limits, will be deducted from the tax liability you owe the state, or added to your state refund if you don't owe taxes this year. Here's what to do:
1. Donate to Our Family's Community Mediation Program. 2. Prepare your state tax return. You must itemize! 3. Complete Arizona Tax Form 321 and include it with your state return. Thanks again to our amazing Mediation volunteers and our many champions, collaborators and friends for 30 years of helping neighbors, communities and families successfully and peacefully resolve their conflicts. We appreciate your support!
