Our Monthly Raffle

Every month, our monthly raffle keeps our nonprofit organization running by earning money for the general fund. The raffle is fun and easy, and any and all raffle prizes are welcome! You could donate a product or service from your company, or it could be something else, like a plant, a bottle of wine, or a box of chocolates. We appreciate all of your contributions. They really make a huge difference to keep our organization going. Contact Audrey Gondoli to donate a raffle item for our next meeting.

Message from the President
Alicia Mutch, ABWA Chapter PresidentHappy New Year!
Now that we've had a taste of spring in the air with record temperatures in January, it's time to shake off the old year and get ready to spring into action. Our chapter is gearing up for our main event of the year, the Inspiring Women Scholarship Fundraiser. Last year, we raised $11,500 in scholarships for very deserving women at Sonoma State and Santa Rosa Junior College. With all our your help, we can make this year the best ever!

Experimental Dinner Discount
Our goal this year with ABWA is to grow our membership in spite of these challenging economic times. To make it even more appealing for you to bring a guest to a meeting, we are offering a $5 discount off the price of the January dinner meeting to any member who brings a guest with them. Sound tempting? Bring a friend with you and share this fabulous group of women with them!

Webpage Challenge Update
Have you checked out your fellow members' websites yet? The Webpage Challenge is almost over, and we're going to vote for our favorite three websites at the January meeting. The member websites are listed in the left column of this newsletter. Be prepared to share something you learned about one of our members that surprised you. The top two winners get to do the three-minute member spotlights for February.

See you soon!

-Alicia Mutch
Next Meeting on January 20
Our next dinner meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 20 at the Fountaingrove Golf and Athletic Club in the clubhouse at the top of the hill. The address of the club is 1525 Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa. We will be networking from 6:30 to 7:00, and our dinner meeting begins at 7:00. All members and guests are welcome.

Our guest speaker will be Ellen Daly from Daly Organizing & Consulting. The topic of her presentation is "Five Secrets to Conquering Office Clutter!" Ellen is the author of the upcoming book, Get Your Office (And Your Brain) Organized!

Please bring your marketing materials with you to display at the marketing table and network, network, network. Our dinner meetings are a great way to shamelessly promote your business. You can also use the monthly raffle to promote yourself.

Please bring a bottle of wine with you to share with your table. Wine is also available for purchase from the club.

The price of the dinner meeting is $37.50 for members and $42.50 for guests. Members who bring a guest with them get a $5 discount on their dinners. Reservations are required by noon on Friday, January 16, and we love early RSVPs.
Scholarship Fundraiser Update
Our annual Inspiring Women's Scholarship Fundraiser will be on Tuesday, April 21 from 6-9pm at the Healdsburg Bar & Grill. The theme is Circus/Vaudeville - we're thinking performers, top hats and costumes and are currently working on a title.

At our planning meeting, we all agreed that it is necessary to have 100% participation among our membership to make this event a success. We all have different skills and ways to contribute, so please think about how you can be involved in a way that works for you. Many thanks to those of you who have volunteered to lead the various committees. There are still areas where we need help, so please be prepared to sign up at the January meeting.

The following committes have a leader and may need helpers:
Food - Alise Sheehan
Live & Silent Auction - Lucy Lewand & Alicia Mutch
Print Materials - Kim Dow
Promotion & PR - Marilyn Archibald
Revenue - Marie Theilade

These committees still need a leader:
Wine - confirm wineries to pour at the event
Decor - Lori Moore has agreed to help
Wine Raffle - collect all necessary bottles
Entertainment - find and schedule performers

If you're interested in taking an active role in planning and preparing for this event, please contact Jen Stark.
Roster Update
In case you're wondering what happened to the printed rosters for our chapter, we decided to save a few trees and focus instead on our online roster. To access the member list, visit the Member Roster section of our website. It's a searchable roster, and has some pretty nifty features at your fingertips. If your information has changed, please contact Chris Parr-Feldman, our Vice President of Membership, and she will update it for you.
