Showering with Spirit

I so love being in the shower. It's not just that I'm a water person (a Cancerian), but I find it to be such a peaceful place. Shower time is prayer and meditation time for me!

Singing in general is a form of prayer for me. Even when I was an atheist, I felt something special inside me when I sang. When I came to believe, I realized what that feeling had been: connection with Spirit.

So, I'm usually singing in the shower, maybe even chanting. It might be only within my head, or in an outward alto voice, fortissimo. Sometimes I get into contemplation mode. Other times, I pray for others.

It really is a great time to connect with Spirit. And, when I don't have to rush off but can luxuriate in slow mode... well, it's pure heaven.

AVG, a security technologies company, issues a quarterly threat report. Here's an overview from their report released in July 2012.

Socially engineered attacks, which deceive mobile device users into downloading and then enabling malware to run as root, have increased. PC-based malware that was socially engineered was also identified, including an email scam targeting Asian markets and the U.S., as well as an attack using celebrity sex videos and fake antivirus to entrap people.

Mobile: Cybercriminals continued their focus on the Android operating system for smartphones. Given Android now holds more than 50% of the market share, it will increasingly become a lucrative attack vector. Mobile users were tricked into downloading malware that was hidden in seemingly legitimate applications. This then allows the hacker to monetize from the infected device as they wish, and to download additional malicious code or connect the device to a botnet.

Threat geography: One notable theme in the last three months was the amount of malware originating from China. Email scams and malicious Android applications uploaded to third party application markets were just two of the threats identified. These targeted China and in some cases, neighboring countries as well as the United States.

Don't assume your friends and colleagues are going to forward your emails. Sometimes, you have to ask them to do so. You already ask for your customers' email addresses (right? I hope so!). So why hesitate to ask customers to pass along your valuable content as well...
