Greetings!
Well, the buzz this month in my life has revolved around our new "Websites and Coffee" adventure and we feel it is truly inspired. It is a series of hands-on sessions to help people move forward in managing their own website, whether related to the actual structure or creating content for it. But, it's really much more than that.
It's about people connecting with other people be it about a new widget they've discovered, or a client lead, or learning there's a friend in common. It's about exchanging information and learning how to get help online when you've come to a roadblock. It's about Rog and me working together in business again, being of service to others, reminiscent of our days at Conversation Point - we make such a great team! Of course, it's about java too!
Above all, it's about building community and realizing one is not alone as you travel through life. Be it working on your website, trying to drum up business or a j-o-b, learning how to knit, a shoulder to lean on...
May you (and moi) remember we are not alone. [And, connecting through this newsletter helps me in that endeavor - thanks for being there.]
Blessings,

Spiritual/Personal
Home
I know home is where my heart is, and with God ever present, home is with me always. That means it's inside of me.
Nevertheless, there's something about my external home. Being a Cancer, my home is quite important to me and feels as snuggly as a cocoon. So even when I am away from it for just a day or two, I'm so glad to return to it. This is especially true since having relocated to Sedona about 2-1/2 years ago.
Yeah, that sounds like attachment, I know. But it's more than that. There's a certain energy about it that exudes not only familiarity, but peace, serenity, joy, etc. and in a way that fits me just so. Hence, the minute I step into my house, I get an infusion into my soul of this great stuff.
I learned many moons ago, well before I knew what the words "spiritual" and "energy" referred to, that wherever I would make my home, it would be cozy because it would reflect my essence. That has proved true in the numerous abodes over the years that I have called home - each has been a lovely place to hang my hat.
No doubt my internal home is infused in my external home - kind of like, God is within me, God surrounds me. God is everywhere. Home is everywhere.
The next time I overnight at another locale, I'll remember that my home truly is within me. Then maybe I'll feel that place fits me just so too. After all, God will be with me, and God is my real Home. |

General Computer Tips
The Musical: "Web Site Story"
You probably assume - rightly - that I'm on the Internet a lot, for business, and perhaps for personal reasons too.
But you may not know that I'm a theatre buff - I started going to Broadway shows when I was 15 (thanks to my Aunt Katherine who just turned 91 years old), learning right away about half-priced tickets through TKTS. Anyone remember that? And, another fact about me is I love musicals, perhaps because I love to sing myself (it is often a form of prayer for me).
So, when I was first sent the link to "Web Site Story" (thanks, Dave), I couldn't wait to watch the video. For a musical theatre lover, not to mention computer geek like me, I was not disappointed! This video is so clever and fun - I hope you too like it! |

Mailing List Incentives for All Organization Types
There are ways to build your mailing list whether you are a business or non-profit organization. You can offer something extra to a potential subscriber to entice them to join your mailing list or become a supporter.
Here are some suggestions to increase mailing list sign-ups. While some of these obviously apply to a business selling services or products, many are applicable to non-profits as well. Be creative and think outside the box!
- Offer a special or a percentage off a product if someone subscribes to your mailing list.
- Offer an item with your organization's logo on it for anyone who signs up for your mailing list, i.e., tee shirt, tote bag, hat. This is particularly useful for...

Website Development/WordPress
Update on "Websites and Coffee"
We're using this space to provide an update to our new series "Websites and Coffee."
Rog and I are enthusiastically busily preparing for these gatherings: drafting workshop descriptions; scheduling dates and times; checking the numbers; strategizing marketing; and, much more.
Our new sister site websitesandcoffee.com is up and running, and we're filling in content as fast as we can. Please check back there regularly for updates.
We've got workshops scheduled into September. You can view the summer schedule online.
We realize that "Websites and Coffee" may not be your cup of tea... But, perhaps you know someone who you think might be interested. We'd appreciate your forwarding them this e-newsletter by clicking the button below. Many thanks!
But, here's something I think will be of interest to everyone. Check out this YouTube video showcasing funny commercials about coffee breaks - don't miss the third one (especially since it's about a clever man and his computer!).

These are exciting times externally and certainly within.
May your summer be abuzz with fun, exciting adventures and insights. And, may we each continue on our individual path towards awakening and inner peace, knowing that we never walk alone.
Yours in Spirit,

Joyce "came to believe" in a Higher Power about 22 years ago. Thanks to hearing the novel idea about choosing your own concept of God, Joyce immediately embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others. Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and their computer projects! |
