Greetings!

Spring is definitely upon us here in Sedona - yippee! I'm grateful for the mild winter we have had, although I do have compassion for the lack of abundance of precipitation and its impact on Nature.

Spring has always been my favorite season. It truly does symbolize rebirth and renewal for me. With Nature all around me beginning to bud and blossom, I get energized and excited. Even when I lived in The Big Apple ensconced with so much concrete, Nature could still burst through and shout "Yes, I am being reborn again. I am starting life anew. And, look, look at the beauty in and through me."

Nature mirrors for me what is going on in my soul and perhaps yours as well: a time to spring ahead with joy, enthusiasm, and faithful expectancy.

Blessings,

Sayings of a Yiddish BuddhaNo, they are not mutually exclusive! I received the following from a friend via email. Apparently it is an oldie, and yes, I would say, it's a goodie! To the extent that you can 'hear' these sayings with a Yiddish or even a Brooklyn accent, all the better.

Sayings of a Yiddish Buddha
  • If there is no self, whose arthritis is this?
  • Drink tea and nourish life; with the first sip, joy; with the second sip, satisfaction; with the third sip, peace; with the fourth, a Danish.
  • Wherever you go, there you are. Your luggage is another story.
  • The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Oy.
  • There is no escaping karma.. In a previous life, you never called, you never wrote, you never visited. And whose fault was that?
  • Zen is not easy. It takes effort to attain nothingness. And then what do you have? Bupkis.
  • The Tao does not speak. The Tao does not blame. The Tao does not take sides. The Tao has no expectations. The Tao demands nothing of others. The Tao is not Jewish.
  • Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Forget this and attaining Enlightenment will be the least of your problems.
  • Let your mind be as a floating cloud. Let your stillness be as a wooded glen. And sit up straight. You'll never meet the Buddha with such rounded shoulders.
  • Deep inside you are ten thousand flowers. Each flower blossoms ten thousand times. Each blossom has ten thousand petals. You might want to see a specialist.
  • Be aware of your body. Be aware of your perceptions. Keep in mind that not every physical sensation is a symptom of a terminal illness.
  • The Torah says, Love your neighbor as yourself. The Buddha says, There is no self. So, maybe we're off the hook.

Website Development/WordPress
What's the Difference Between a Page and a Post?

A WordPress site's primary elements are pages and posts. Here's a brief explanation of the difference between a web page and a blog post. Whether you have your own website, or you're looking at others' websites, I think you'll find this information useful. Let me know...

Pages are used for content that won't change often. "About Us" is a good example. In general, pages are linked to the navigation bar.  They are highly visible and easy to find because pages contain good general information about the services you provide.  Pages tend to serve as great references on your website.

PostsA post is content that you are constantly adding to.  You may be writing a series of articles on a subject, let's say...

I so enjoy hearing from my readers... After all, a prime intention of publishing a newsletter is to help foster relationships. So I'll close with sharing some comments I received recently.

[Re: Issue 2 - opening greeting about Valentine's Day] "Thank you; thank you, thank you; thank you, for celebrating and explaining the celebration that I have felt all my life... People ask me over and over why do you do this on a 'commercial' day... I say it is only a commercial day if you 'buy' into the flowers and candy, jewelry aspect. If not, it is a day for ALL humans not just Christians (like Christmas). So thank you for putting this into words!" - Dayadevi, Artistic Heirlooms

"... your tasteful design and relevant content is terrific. I particularly enjoyed the Notepad reference in Issue 2 because I keep forgetting and trapping myself in Word's presumptions when doing e-book conversions. I'm adding a step now, thanks to you, that does a nuclear "strip" via Notepad++ - so now I might save enough time to come back up to Sedona someday soon!" - Paul McNeese, OPA Author Services

bottomgodwordJoyce "came to believe" in a Higher Power about 22 years ago when she started practicing the Twelve Step way of life. Thanks to hearing the novel idea "Why don't you choose your own conception of God?" (Alcoholics Anonymous, page 12), Joyce immediately embarked on a new way of thinking, a new way of living, a new way of being in the world and with others.  Since that time of commencing her conscious spiritual journey, she has endeavored to remember The Presence in all that is, all whom she meets, and all that she does - including working with others and their computer projects!
