Coppery-chested JacamarKey properties added to Narupa Reserve in Ecuador
WLT-US supported our Ecuadorian partner Fundación Jocotoco to acquire three new properties totaling 229 acres - greatly expanding the Narupa Reserve. Situated between the Antisana and Sumaco volcanoes, this reserve protects rich Andean cloud forests that rise out of the Amazon basin. We continue to expand this important cloud forest reserve. El Dorado ReserveAdditional lands bought for Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
WLT-US has helped expand the El Dorado Reserve, home to dozens of globally threatened birds, plants and amphibians. A 250 acre historic farmstead called Vistanieves was added in conjunction with ABC and Fundación ProAves to protect an extraordinary diversity of species, including 635 species of birds, three of which are Endangered and only known from this region.
