Blue-throated MacawLand purchase to help rarest wild Macaw
WLT-US provided the majority of funds to purchase 2,867 acres - expanding Armonia Bolivia's reserve for the Critically Endangered Blue-throated Macaw. The land includes both savannas and rainforest, and protects a host of other species as well. Read more.
Serrania Sadiri Community saves 62,000 acres of rainforest
WLT-US assistance to the community of San Jose de Uchupiamonas has resulted in an agreement to protect the vast lowland rainforest and foothill forest of Serrania Sadiri, in Bolivia. This area protects Peccary, Jaguar, Puma and more. Read more.
Fuertes's ParrotNew protection for vanishing parrot
WLT-US recently funded an extension to the ProAves reserve that protects the remarkable Indigo-winged Parrot, of which less than 200 remain in the entire world. This increible mountain habitat also protects endangered Wooly Tapir and Spectacled Bear. Read more.
Buenaventura Ecuador Buenaventura purchase expands reserve
The Jocotoco Foundation, with funding support from WLT and WLT-US recently added another 105 acres to its Buenaventura Reserve, consolidating the core area. Today the reserve totals over 4,000 acres and protects the El Oro Parakeet, and many other species. Our current campaign aims to add new properties at $600 an acre. Read more.
