One day in 2004, Michelle Romero did something most women have done - she spilled on her favorite handbag. Frustrated by the thought of hunting for a replacement then transferring all the contents, she wished there was a way to just change the outside of the bag. The idea immediately popped into her mind to create a bag with changeable covers. Not to be deterred by her lack of sewing skills, Michelle grabbed her super glue and scrap fabric, took apart the stained bag, and made the very first prototype. With her rough creation in hand, Michelle set out on a mission to bring to life the Miche bag. 

 

I discovered this product while out of state visiting a friend, and have been a happy Miche Bag owner ever since. As a business owner, the last thing I want to worry about is changing around my purse. Now I don't have to, I can just change the cover (shell) to suit whatever I am wearing.

Sticks was founded by artist Sarah Grant in 1992, and has received national acclaim for their distinctive line of furniture, accessories and object art. The company began by designing smaller items such as ornaments and candlesticks, and has evolved to feature larger items such as dining sets, beds and armoires. Each piece is handcrafted from birch, poplar and driftwood within Sticks' studio in Des Moines, Iowa.
