Greetings!
Rose on the beach
Don't forget to get your hiney outside and enjoy the summer!  It's already August, and it will be getting cooler before you know it!

I've been enjoying taking walks on the beach and just connecting with the water - it's such a great way to relax and de-stress.

Natty and I are spending more time outside with friends and family while we are planning our wedding.

Everyone works so hard, that sometimes we forget to go outside and just enjoy the natural resources that are all around us!

In love and service,

~Rose

Sunburn Soothers

aloe veraAloe vera has wonderful anti-inflammatory effects, and is a wonderful salve for sunburn pain. Just squeeze the amino-acid-rich gel directly from the whole leaves of the plant, or find a product that contains 95% to 100% pure aloe vera.

Also, to create a skin-cooling soak, mix 1 Cup of powdered milk with 10 drops of lavender essential oil. Shake ingredients in a jar and let sit for a day before pouring into a lukewarm bath.

Summer Allergy Relief

Look for all-natural antihistamin like quercetine, which is a type of antioxidant found in onions and citrus fruits. It's available in supplimnet form (found at www.TryVRP.com), about 1,000 mg of quercetin taken 3 times per day thought the season should help keep the symptoms at bay.

You can also try drinking nettle tea, which is another natural antihistamin.  And try cutting back on dairy and gluten products, which may help to reduce congestion, phlem, and sinus-pressure headaches.

Healthy Hydration

If you're on a major hiking trek or biking excursion, don't skip the healthy salt.  Sweating can disturb your sodum-water balance, so replenish by adding Celic Sea Salt, which has 80 trace minerals in (found at www.TryVRP.com), it to your food and snacks.  You can even add a few pinches to your water bottle to make an all-natural mineral water.

Natural Bug Bite Balm

For mosquito bites and bee stings, apply a paste of baking soda nad water. This combination neutralizes the bug's venom.

Also, take 5 pellots of homeopathic apis at 30c strength, 3 times per day until the iching subsides. And adding a drop of lavnedar essential oil to the bite can also take away the itching and stinging.

Hope you're having a wonderful summer!

Recipe of the Week
Grapefruit & Honey Raw-sicles
 Grapefruit Popsicles
Ingredients:
1/2 pink grapefruit
1/4 coconut water (bottled or fresh)
1/4 apple (any kind will do, but I like Gala)
2 tbs raw honey (make sure it's unheated)
1 tbs lemon juice

Instructions:
Blend everything up in www.TheVitamixBlender.com for about 30 seconds until blended smooth. Then pour into ice-pop molds (you can find them online). Stick in the freezer for about 6 hours or until completely frozen.

If you don't have popsicle molds, you can substitute ice cube trays, martini glasses, or the small size Ball canning jars for a little quant country BBQ pizzazz.

Not to be confused with coconut milk, coconut water is the liquid from the center of a coconut, and can be found now days in a can, bottle, or you can find the green variety of coconut that has been shaved into a little octagon shaped white ball.  You may have seen them in the fresh veggie and fruit section on ice. You can find instructions online on how to open them to get the yummy and delicious water out of them, but don't forget to spoon out the gelatinous coconut meat!  That's the best part!

By the way, coconut water is one of the most healthy slimming things you can drink.  It's more hydrating then drinking plain water because of all the electrolytes. It's like an all-natural sports drink. Plus it has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties.

Summer just isn't summer without a refreshing cup of lemonade! This lemonade doesn't have all the extra sugar that makes your energy crash, and packs on the pounds.
