1. Start Walking!
The average American walks 3,000 steps per day, and they recommend 10,000 per day for proper health.  Get a pedometer to see how many steps per day YOU take.
 
2. Don't Eat Late
Eat dinner early, and make it the smallest meal of the day. A full tummy impairs fat burning at night and can cause sleep issues.
 
3. Eat More Nuts
As often as you can, eat some nuts (examples: almonds, pecans, macadamia)  Buy 'em fresh, eat 'em raw, to lower risk of heart disease, boost your energy, and accelerate weight loss!
 
4. Soak your nuts in water!
Not meant to be dirty, I mean almonds. They have an acid on the outside of the skin, so soaking makes them more nutritious and better for you.   
 
5. Don't Underestimate the Power of Selenium
3 Brazil Nuts = 200 mcg of Selenium = Lower levels of cancer and healthier immune system
 
6. Breathe Deeply
Do you breathe from your chest or your belly? Deep belly breaths are the best for getting into a relaxed state which increases energy and help you lose weight  - try to do at least 10 per day.

Recipe of the Week
Superfood Live Chili

Ingredients:
 Raw Chili
1  cup  avocado
3/4  cup sun-dried tomatoes, soaked in water for 3-4 hours
1/2 cup soaked almonds (Soaked almond recipe)
1/2 cup carrots, diced
½ cup fresh cilantro, de-stemmed
1/4 cup lime juice
1 1/2 tablespoons Celtic salt (www.TryVRP.com)
1/2 tablespoons chili spice
1 tablespoons dried cilantro
1/2 tablespoon cumin
1/2 tablespoon cayenne
1/2 tablespoon paprika
 
Directions:

Combine soaked almonds, avocado, lime juice, tomatoes, and tomato soak water in blender and mix on high until smooth. Add remaining ingredients except fresh cilantro and carrots and mix for additional minute. Stir in carrots and fresh cilantro and serve immediately.
 
This recipe is great in tacos, burritos, on a tostada before you add the toppings, as a chip of veggie dip, or just by itself.

Energy Juice Boost

2 organic grapefruits
2 organic oranges
1 inch of raw ginger, skin removed
2 carrots, washed

Place all ingredients in a juicer and voila!

I started drinking this in the morning and not only did my energy levels improve, my craving for caffeine disappeared. Plus, my energy was actually sustained throughout the day!
