We would like for the Y to be your charity of choice.  Here's a great example of why:  Three year old Melvin and eight year old Alice were both terrified to get into the pool.  Their parents just wanted their kids to be safe and have fun around the water.  Despite a fixed income, the Y helped them afford swim lessons this summer.  Both kids learned about: boating safety, "reaching and throwing" lifesaving assists, emergency information, and introductory swim skills.  While neither child can swim independently yet, they did learn how to have fun safely in, and around the water.  Most importantly, they developed confidence and social skills that are transferable to school, church...life.

So that everyone like Melvin and Alice has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, we are asking you to make the largest contribution you can to the Mathews Family YMCA Strong Communities campaign.
