YMCA Members Earn FREE Months
Get a friend to join the fun at the YMCA this summer!
We'll waive a full-month of dues for each new membership that joins-our way of saying "thank you" for helping others improve their health and well-being.

| MATHEWS FAMILY YMCA YARD SALE
Join us for the 4th annual Mathews Family YMCA yard sale on Saturday, June 5, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm in the YMCA parking lot. Donate your used items, shop for new treasures, and help send a few youngsters back to school with new supplies. Proceeds from the yard sale benefit the YMCA Bright Beginnings program and the Mathews County Department of Social Services Fresh Start Programs. Drop off or arrange for pickup during business hours.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
PARENT/CHILD T-BALL
Children play with a YMCA instructor and other children in a structured class setting to advance skills such as: Bat swinging, base running, infielding, and outfielding. Ages 4 1/2 to 6 1/2. Wednesdays, June 16 through August 4, 5:30-6:30 pm at THMS sport complex. Fee $35, Register by June 9. Parent Volunteers are needed.
SAILING
Sail off into the Chesapeake Bay with the YMCA. Participants will learn sailing terminology, safe sailing practices, how to rig a boat, launch it into the water, and sail away successfully.Sessions are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm at Williams Wharf and the fee for the week is $260. Youth sessions for ages 8-12 are June 14-18 and June 28-July 2. Teen sessions for ages 13-17 are June 21-25 and July 12-16. Space is limited.
SWIM LESSONS
Register now for our swim lessons beginning June 14. Each 2 week session runs Monday through Thursday, with Fridays reserved for rain dates and the fee for each session is $44 per person. Sessions are offered for ages 6 months to 3 years with parent, preschool ages 3 years to 5 years, and youth ages 6 years to 12 years. The new location is Horn Harbor Marina.

GROUP EXERCISE
NEW! WATER EXERCISE - Register now. Classes begin June 14 and meet 2 times per week for four weeks from 10:15-11am on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Free for members and $28 for program participants. Located at Horn Harbor Marina.
CORE STRENGTH & TONE - Tuesdays from 4:15-5:15 pm. Free for members or $7 per class to drop in.
GENTLE YOGA - Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. at Kingston Parish. Free for members. Program participant fee is $40 for 7 weeks, or $7 per class to drop in.
CLASSIC YOGA - Mondays from 5:15 to 6:30 pm at Kingston Parish. Free for members, $40 for program participants for 7 weeks, or $7 per class to drop in.
50+ AEROBICS - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 10:00 am at the Mathews Active Lifestyle Center. Free to all seniors. Intensity level: Low to Medium. |

YOUTH AND TEEN SPECIALTY CAMPS
Outdoor Adventure Camp
July 26-30 for ages 8-12.
August 9-13 for ages 10-15.
Both sessions are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Campers enjoy many different and exciting outdoor activities, including field trips to the Dinwiddie County Gem Mine, Victory Family YMCA rock climbing and swimming, Archeology and Exploration with the Fairfield Foundation, Virginia Living Museum, Canoeing, Kayaking, and Sailing or Stand Up Paddling. Fee $99.
Introduction to fitness through a variety of sports and games. Snacks and daily field trips included. Fee $89. August 2-6, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for ages 5-12.

Spirit, Mind and Body Camp
August 16-20, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Children ages 9-12 will explore a variety of art mediums, learn some kid-friendly facts about the wonderful world in which we live, and participate in an assortment of games and hands-on activities to enhance their physical well being. All of the activities incorporate the four core values of the YMCA: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Fee: $56
Sponsored by the Mathews Family YMCA, Bay School Cultural Arts Center and the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office of Mathews County. Spirit, Mind and Body Camp will meet at the Bay School.
Summer Soccer Camp
July 19-23, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, for 1st through 8th graders. Dribble - Pass - Shoot - Score! Our coed soccer league focuses on the basic skills of soccer taught through practices and games. Camp will be conducted by Mathews High School Varsity Soccer Coach Ben Hurst and varsity soccer players. Fee: $23 |

Mathews Annual Fireworks Celebration
Sunday, July 4.
Festivities begin at 5:00 pm. Concessions available; hot dogs, hamburgers, BBQ, etc. Games for kids of all ages! 5-8pm
Music By: Riptide, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Fireworks begin at dusk (Approximately 9:15 pm) at Mathews High School.
For your comfort, bring lawn chairs
or blankets. The stadium bleachers may also be used.
ADMISSION IS FREE!
No coolers, please.
Additional parking at THMS with a shuttle bus
running from 7pm until event conclusion.
