CRU Solutions Earns Microsoft Certified Partner Level
Microsoft Certified Logo
CRU Solutions recently earned the Microsoft Certified Partner level. While we have been a Microsoft OEM partner for many years, this new achievement is recognition that the company has a significant level of industry experience and expertise providing services, software and support for Microsoft technologies, and has a close relationship with Microsoft. To earn the Certified Partner level, we demonstrated knowledge through formal testing in various technical areas and strong client testimonials verifying the successful implementation of projects using Microsoft products.

"Achieving the Microsoft Certified Partner level demonstrates our client commitment to helping improve business efficiency using technology," said Jim Kerr, President. "Moving to this next level gives us an even better connection with Microsoft and will allow us to continue to bring cutting-edge Microsoft products to our clients while developing the best solutions to meet their business needs.  Congratulations to the CRU Team, who worked hard to achieve this level of accomplishment."

Tips for Outlook and PowerPoint

Several people editing the same document?

Do you collaborate on documents with people in the office?  Instead of attaching the document to an e-mail, (and wasting bandwidth and e-mail storage space) create a hyperlink to the document.  That way, everyone is working on the same document in the same place.

In the body of your e-mail, right click, select "hyperlink", start with "look in" (just like you were "exploring" for a document) and build the link.

Quick E-Mail Search in Outlook
In Outlook, you can quickly search through a mail folder by using the Instant Search box.  In addition to searching for keywords, you can do a fielded search by prefixing your search text with a variety of field names.

For example, if you want to find a jpg attachment that Jimmy sent in May, you would write the search this way:

from:jimmy attachments:jpg sent:may

This helps you easily find e-mail from a specific person, or find a specific attachment.

You want to see your PowerPoint Presentation notes but you don't want your audience to see them.
For many years, PowerPoint has had a great feature called Presenter View, which allows you as the presenter to see a different view of the presentation from your audience. In Presenter View, your monitor shows not only the slides, but also your notes as well as the current elapsed time in the presentation. This makes giving a presentation far easier.

To enable Presenter view, go to the Slide Show ribbon and check Use Presenter View. In that same section, you can also change the monitor which the presentation is shown on. One note: the Use Presenter View checkbox can only be checked if you already have a second monitor connected and enabled.
