Tip of the Month: Beware of "Hidden" Cells when Reformatting Excel Worksheets
A recent article in Computerworld tells how an Excel reformatting error led to 179 contracts being added inadvertently to the bankruptcy buyout deal between Barclays and Lehman Brothers. The spreadsheet contained almost 1,000 rows of data with a total of more than 24,000 individual cells, and the error came when contracts that were "hidden" in the original spreadsheet showed up in the converted PDF file.
