FROM THE PRESIDENT
Regarding Windows XP Availability
You may have read that Microsoft is discontinuing its Windows XP operating system effective June 30, 2008. This deadline affects only major manufacturers such as Dell, HP and Lenovo. They will be required to switch to the Vista operating system for all computers they produce beginning July 1.
Microsoft has made an exception to this deadline for channel original equipment manufacturers like CRU Solutions. We can install Windows XP on computers we produce through January 31, 2009. Remember, the clock on Windows XP is ticking. If you need help with your Windows XP to Windows Vista conversion plan, please contact me at jim.kerr@crusolutions.com or 440-325-4055.
We appreciate your business and we're here to help. Contact us anytime to let us know how we can better meet your IT needs.

Three of the top four PC sellers worldwide plan to sell systems with Windows XP right up to the Microsoft-mandated deadline of June 30... Tip of the Month: Thinking Green When You Print
Hate those printed Word documents that have a few lines spilling over onto the last page? You can save paper by going to Word's Print Preview in the File menu and clicking the "Shrink to Fit" or "Shrink One Page" button, which has an icon showing multiple pages transforming onto one page. Word will automatically fiddle with the document's text size and spacing to get it all on a single page. But if the shrinkage messes up your formatting or looks too cramped, undo it by pressing Control-Z (Command-Z on a Mac), which reverses the process.

Product Focus: Intel Modular Server Saves Money, Adds Storage Flexibility
Does your computer technology include two or more servers? If so, consider CRU's newest server offering, the Intel Modular Server. This product was developed at Intel specifically for the SMB space. The unit supports up to six servers and has 14 hard drive bays.
There are two particularly compelling features of this server. First is the lower incremental cost to add a server -- far less than the price of a new rack or pedestal server comparably equipped. Second is the flexible storage. Disk space can be configured dynamically to allocate disk space to the servers that need it. If you would like more information on the Modular Server, please contact us. |
