LETTER FROM DANNY
Greetings!
I had an interesting thing happen to me the other day. I'd been called for jury duty and I have to say I went in expecting to never be called. But then I was. The trial was described as one that could take up to a month. A month? What would I do if I had to stop working for an entire month? How would I get everything done? On the second day, I was dismissed and sent out of the courtroom. But it occurred to me, writing this letter, that this is just what I'm trying to tell my clients and friends about when it comes to insurance. You can't predict everything. You don't know when you might have to drop everything for a health crisis or for some other reason for a month. That's why you need insurance -- and that's why you need to get it before you actually need it.

Divorce and the Need for Long Term Care Insurance Danny recently wrote an article on the increased use of Long Term Care Insurance in divorce settlements as a way to protect assets and to replace built-in caregiver expectations. The article was picked up by several news organizations across the country.

STAYING HEALTHY
Eating Your Way to Fitness -- How Eating More Frequently May Actually Help You Get Fit
Blog by Dr. Jade Teta If you want to lose weight, you should probably plan on eating less, right? Well, not so fast. Eating less can slow down metabolism in certain body types and actually make fitness goals even more difficult to achieve. In this blog entry, Dr. Jade Teta talks about meal frequency -- how often you should eat -- or not eat -- and why. Click here for the full article.
SUPPORT JDRF
A Big Thank-You to Everyone for Supporting the 2011 JDRF Blanton Vogler Memorial Golf Tournament Note from Danny: This spring's Blanton Vogler Memorial Golf Tournament raised over $50,000. That's up from $27,000 two years ago and $42,000 last year. We are really excited about the progress and hope to continue to increase revenue. We had 180 total golfers split between both Tanglewood golf courses. I want to thank our friends and colleagues who came out to support JDRF. If you are interested in joining us next year for this fun tournament, click here to e-mail me.
THANKS
Insurance Can Bring Better Benefits for Companies in a Tight Economy
This spring I've had a chance to sit down with executives from many small and large organizations to talk about insurance. I always enjoy these conversations because, truth is, many people are interested in finding out about new insurance policies for themselves and their employees. Summer is a great time to take a look at the "big picture." Call or email me and we can do just that.
