Talking about: Aging and Living as a Senior
Notes from Danny Mensh, President |
This month I wrote an article for TriadLiving magazine about Senior Living. In fact, the entire issue of the upcoming magazine is devoted to life after 65. But what if you're 40 or even 50 and busy with kids and your career -- why should you be interested in articles about seniors? The truth is you really need to start thinking your retirement years long before you actually reach them. In this newsletter we'll be talking about lots of different aspects of preparing for your older years: everything from Assisted Living to Yoga!

The Big Picture - What if you've lost 30% or more of your assets? We recommend you purchase a Term Life Insurance Policy to cover those lost assets for 10 - 20 years until you can regrow your portfolio. |
If you have lost 30% or more of your assets (and you would certainly not be alone) we are recommending that you purchase an equal amount of Term Life Insurance to offset that recent financial loss and protect yourself for the next 10-20 years while you re-establish your portfolio to previous levels. You can structure it so that:
- if you die unexpectedly your family won't lose your home
- your children will still be able to go to college
- your spouse will be able to continue to pay the bills
- the goals that you set for you and your spouse can still happen
Right now just about everyone in their 40's-60's is looking at their projections for future income streams and their retirement funds and they are clearly having to readjust their expectations.
What if you already have a Life Insurance policy? Great. You may just need more Insurance to cover recent financial losses. Call for an insurance review and we can help you make sure your property, assets and plans are covered. Yes, it's hard to come to terms with significant negative changes in your portfolio, but it's now time to make some safe, smart decisions that will protect your family. |
For Business Owners and CEOs
Download our new "2009 Smart Business Guide to Long Term Care Insurance" Kit |
Long Term Care has become a cutting edge benefit for businesses and corporations. Today many businesses are offering LTC as part of a benefit package for key employees.
Why are more businesses starting to offer Long Term Care insurance. For a lot of reasons really. Most importantly:
1. Employees are asking for it. They realize with the tough economy they may not be able to handle the staggering costs of health care.
2. Caregiving costs your business a lot of money. If you employees are having to take long lunch hours, spend time on the phone, and shuttle aging parents to doctors appointments -- it's hard for them to get their work done. LTC insurance would provide qualified personnel to help with all of these activities.

Prevention - Weight Lifting Can Help At Any Age |
There's a great deal of evidence that weight lifting becomes even more important as you get older. An article on Healthyme.com by Chris Woolston writes, "Muscles tend to weaken with age, and this decline can eventually rob seniors of their active, independent lifestyles." According to the article, weight lifting can results in:
1. Improved walking ability.
2. Ease in performing day-to-day tasks.
3. Prevention of broken bones.
4. Relief from arthritis pain.
5. Rise in metabolism.
6. Better Sleep.
7. Ease mild to moderate depression.
The article also says that, "The American College of Sports Medicine now recommends weight training for all people over 50, and even people well into their 90s can benefit."
