| Greetings! | |
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It is a blessing to serve as your pastor and be part of such an incredible church family. In our next newsletter I will have more to say recapping the summer of 2012, but incredible ministries have taken place and lives have been changed through mission trips to Honduras and New Orleans, Preteen and Student Camps, Vacation Bible School... and the list goes on. Thank you for praying! Thank you for supporting! And thank you for serving!
With a new month comes another event that I am very excited about. Starting August 5, James Curlin will join the pastoral staff at Fellowship of Montgomery as our new Pastor of Worship and Outreach. Many of you know James and his wife Rachel from their times with us as a guest worship leader and with our Disciple Now weekends. Please pray for the selling of their house in the Waco area, the transition here, and a blessed ministry in the days ahead at Fellowship of Montgomery. If you would like to know more about James, you can visit his band website by clicking here.
God is doing great things in our church. Be sure to invite your family and friends to join you and experience God with you this Sunday at Fellowship of Montgomery.
May Jesus Christ be praised,
Pastor Dale

First 5th Quarter: August 31st
|
We are having our first 5th Quarter event of this year! Come to Fellowship of Montgomery after the Varsity football game from around 10:00p-12:00a for some great entertainment. We have a special guest, Dennis Rogers, who will WOW you with his crazy strength. He can bend wrenches in half and snap handcuffs in two. Between his live and televised appearances it is estimated that more than 300 million people in 156 countries have seen him perform. He is not an illusionist. The authenticity of his powerful feats have been verified by strength historians and officials throughout the world, as well as through field tests via the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and The History Channel. We will also have our Rec. area open for pool, air hockey, video games, foosball, and free pizza. This event is entertainment for the entire family. Invite your friends and family, and we will see you there!

| The Kove Pre-School Ministry | |
The Kove Pre-School Ministry Update:
Nursery: Each Sunday we enjoy providing our littlest ones with a loving and caring environment while parents participate in worship. Toddlers: In the toddler area, we get to have a lot of fun as we create a friendly, Christian environment where our kids enjoy singing, snacks, games, and Bible activities. Pre-K (3-5 yrs): We are learning about Jesus from our new curriculum called City Streets Jr. This curriculum is a musical with puppets, and the kids are loving it! We are learning Bible stories that teach us how to obey God and love others. Don't forget that Promotion Sunday is August 19th. Everyone is growing up so fast! We will miss our children that are moving up, but we are excited about the new children we are able to love on and minister to!
We love your children and love seeing them grow for Jesus!
Let your Light Shine,
Heather

| The Wave Children's Ministry |
The Wave Update
The Wave (K-3rd): VBS was so exciting with our Praise curriculum by the Go Fish Guys, and we are continuing the musical series with City Streets. Welcome to the City! Here we will learn what it means to be a follower of God. We will also sing, dance, and learn about some important moments from the life of Abram in the Bible. Don't forget to stretch before you arrive and get yourself warmed up and completely powered up! On Wednesday evenings join us in The Wave for pizza and games with our friends and a new series called Zooplosion. Lions and Donkeys and Ravens, oh my! The animals are the main characters of Zooplosion. Watch the Bible Stories through the eyes of the animals in the Bible and see how God always provides. Then we will see "what might have happened" and learn that things work out better when we follow God's plan. Each week we have a fun time of learning about the Lord as we turn our attention to God's Word.

The Ride Pre-Teen Ministry
|
The Ride Update:
Preteens (4th-6th grade):
The Ride is hanging on to the last moments of summer as we kick of an Awesome August! Pre-teens are being challenged to form a new habit of daily Bible reading through The Ride's 21 Day Challenge which is posted daily on The Ride's Facebook page. The challenge is an opportunity for pre-teens to spend time reading God's word and learning more about the life of Jesus Christ.
The Pre-teen ministry mission project is now off to a great start! Many shoe boxes have been collected for Operation Christmas Child. At this time we are collecting small toys such as YoYos, slinkys and hacky sacks, personal items such as hats, hair accessories, sunglasses, toiletries and school supplies. Please note that donations must be new items, fit into a shoe box, can not be liquid, toys can not depict guns, knives or soldiers and items should not be size specific.
We look forward to seeing shining faces every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. for pizza, fun and the new series "How Big is God?" On Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. The Ride will continue to lead pre-teens on an exciting journey through the book of Genesis.
For more information on all of the exciting opportunities in Pre-teen ministry please contact Marissa Scholl at marissa.scholl@gmail.com.
