| Greetings! | |
We come to that time of year when we celebrate, with our high school seniors, a great accomplishment in their lives... GRADUATION! This has always been a special time for me, and I enjoy seeing the success and the excitement displayed by these students in the churches where I have served.
And while every graduation is special, this one has even more significance in the Talbert home. Our oldest daughter, Madison, is graduating from high school. After the summer mission trip to Honduras, she will start attending Texas A&M University. Now, in my mind I can already hear some saying "whoop" while others are hitting the delete button on the computer. I understand... it's not Oklahoma State, but we are so proud of her and very glad she is going to a great school.
As a parent, the years we have with our children in the home seems to fly by so fast. Then as a pastor, I also recognize just how quickly the little ones move from the nursery, to the children's ministry, then the youth group, and before you know it they are off to college. The father in me wants to stop time and keep all of our children right where they are. But the pastor in me recognizes that God has an incredible plan for each of them... lessons to be learned, lives to be touched, and stories still to be written.
So what will we do with the time we have with these incredible children God places in our homes and in our church? How will we live this day in such a way so as to bless and equip each child with an understanding of our love and God's love for them? How will we serve them and encourage them today to follow God's amazing plan for every day they are blessed with in the future?
I have to confess something to you. Eighteen years ago I was an expert, and it all seemed so simple. But today, I'm learning that I am the student... a student who must continually turn to God in order to learn more about loving the children in my home and in the church.
Students and parents, I want to remind us all of a very practical promise from God that is found in James 1:5 (NLT). The Bible says, "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking."
So to all of our graduating seniors, I am very proud of you, and I am praying that God continues to bless you as you seek Him every day. And for all of the parents, may God grant us the wisdom and the strength to love, lead, and even let go and let Him be God of our student's future as well.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Dale |

| FM Worship Ministry |
Colossians 3:15-17
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Psalm 30:12
That my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
I love that God has equipped us with all the worship music we need, right in the Word of God. As we sing every week, we try to incorporate songs with scriptures that come directly from the bible. If there is a song or hymn that moves you, feel open to request it and we will do our best to incorporate it in one of the services and sermon related music.
We want this time to be the best hour of your week!

FM Student Update: Wednesday Nights: At the beginning of May we will finish our study in the book of Jonah. The final study we will do this quarter is called You've Got Questions, He's Got Answers. This will be the second year that we have done this, and it had such a great response that we are continuing it again. Students can ask any questions about God, the Bible, or life, and we will pick some of those questions to answer the next week and find answers from the Word of God. So join us Wednesdays at 6:30p for a great time of studying God's Word, worship, games, food, and a whole lot of fun.
FM Student Text Group: We have a new way for parents and students to be updated each week about events and details related to the student ministry. Text fomyouth to 23559 and create your own unique username. We would love to keep your informed with this system.

Youth Summer Camp: We now have opened registration for those students in 7th-12th grade that are interested in youth camp this summer on July 9-13. Currently, there has been $200 in deposits due to secure your spot, and the third payment of $100 is due May 27th. If you would like more details or have questions please email Brian Roberson at brian@fellowshipofmontgomery.net.
Senior Sunday: We will have Senior Sunday this year on Sunday May 20th in the second service. Seniors, we are so proud of you and your accomplishments throughout high school, and we know that God has great plans for you in your future. If you would like to participate in this event so that we can honor you, please RSVP with Brian Roberson and turn in a CD of at least 5 pictures no later than Wednesday, May 16th. | The Kove Pre-School Ministry | |
The Kove Pre-School Ministry Update:
Nursery: Each Sunday we enjoy providing our littlest ones with a loving and caring environment while parents participate in worship. Toddlers: In the toddler area, we get to have a lot of fun as we create a friendly, Christian environment where our kids enjoy singing, snacks, games, and Bible activities. Pre-K (3-5 yrs): This month in the Kove we will start a new series called Power Up Jr. Button and Switch find out it's not always fun and games as they play through the game zone. When things go wrong, Button and Switch learn from Jesus' teaching in the Bible about how to control their character! Thank you for sharing your children with us and allowing us to love on them and teach them about Jesus. We always pray for your children, and we pray for you too! If you have any questions, please contact Heather Schenk in the nursery on Sunday. |
Parent Meeting for Children's Ministry (K-6th): May 23rd
| Parents of all children in K-6th grade, we will have a Children's Ministry Meeting on May 23rd at 7:30p to discuss all of our plans for this summer. We will discuss Thrilling Thursdays, Preteen Camp, Vacation Bible School, and how you can get involved. We need all parents to attend because this is a great opportunity for you to get all the inside scoop on these events. You will also be helping us in our preparation because you will be able to advance register your child for these events. We look forward to seeing you there!

| The Wave Children's Ministry |
The Wave Update
The Wave (K-3rd): This month we are starting a whole new series that is exciting and fun called Power Up Kids. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to actually play inside a video game? Then join Rom, Ram and the Game Boss in this series, Power Up! We'll play games, decode puzzles, and learn from Psalm 101 how to live a life completely powered up!
On Wednesday evenings join us in The Wave for pizza and our new series Shipwrecked. Trapped on an island they think is deserted, two castaways, Aaron and Jamie, face hunger, weather, something they think is a large bird, and the sound of something they can't even see. Will they survive? Will they be rescued? Will they ever learn to get along? Find out as we learn some valuable lessons from the life of Paul. We meet at 6:30p to enjoy pizza and games with our friends. At 7:00 pm we have a fun time of learning about the Lord as we turn our attention to God's Word.
Parents, we are also starting something new on Wednesday nights in May. We are going to start having children in K-3rd check in at the check in table where they check out on Wednesday nights. Parents instead of dropping them off in the back of the building, please help us by dropping them off at this table, and they will go directly upstairs. Thank you so much for your assistance with this.

The Ride Pre-Teen Ministry
|
The Ride Update:
Preteens (4th-6th grade): Preteens Pray! In the month of May we will focus on talking with God about our exciting times and our sticky situations. Each week we will take a close look at Philippians 4:4-8. Also, please make plans to attend our Parent Meeting, May 2, 7:00-8:00 pm in The Ride. We will discuss opportunities to serve in the Preteen Ministry, Preteen Camp, thrilling Thursdays, and Christmas in July. On Sundays, we are doing a series called Konnect. The preteen group is going on a journey through the Bible. The stories come alive through hands-on projects, crazy games, and fun activities. Join us each Sunday as we will be looking at stories from Creation through Exodus. On We dnesdays our curriculum is called SuperStart, and this quarter the theme is amazing illusions. Here is what this theme looks like: Take a trip to an amazing place! Go with Patrick, Samantha, and Eric to The Amazing Kent's Illusion Study as they learn how to do illusions. The Amazing Kent is a great teacher and even arranges for an audience to watch Patrick, Samantha, and Eric perform their illusions. As the cast learns how to do illusions and gets themselves into some wacky situations, students will make some amazing discoveries about their own lives. Preteen Camp: If you are interested in preteen camp, there are still spots available, but your deposit is required to secure a spot. Please contact Marissa Scholl at marissa.scholl@gmail.com or Rockey Butler in the church office.
