Greetings!

One of the blessings about serving as the pastor of this church, or any church, is to see people get excited about the Lord and about His church, and there is no shortage of that blessing here at Fellowship of Montgomery. In recent days, several of you have signed up for F.I.T. (which is our First Impressions Team) so you can help people who come here get answers to their questions, directions to where they are going, and make them feel welcome knowing we are glad they're here to worship with us. I want to say thank you to all of you who serve... whether you have been here since the beginning or you are brand new to our ministry.

I also want to say a special thank you to the wonderful group of people (students and adults) who came out the morning of March 31, to paint, mow, mulch, cut, clean, dig, push... you name it and they did it. God has blessed us with this wonderful property, and you all did an amazing job!

In the month of April, my prayer and my plan is to encourage you and give you opportunities to invite your friends. April 8, is Easter Sunday, and it will be a great time of worship and teaching from God's Word. We will kick-off a new series titled Unstuck and discover what the Bible has to say about getting unstuck in your faith, your future, and more. Then on April 29, at 5:30p, we will be hosting an incredible event with the creators of Beware of Christians. This documentary is about leaving religion to follow Jesus. If you have a student, wether we are talking about preteens, teens, or college, I believe this is an event they need to attend. Following the screening, the writers, who are all college students, will be here to challenge, encourage, and answer questions. More information will be coming later, but put it on your calendar and start telling your friends.

May the Lord continue to bless you,

Pastor Dale

Life Groups

Life Groups are not simply a Bible study, they are so much more.  At Life Group meetings, we hang out, get to know each other, worship God, study His Word, and then we DO his work!  At Fellowship of Montgomery, we are doers of God's Word and not just hearers.  So, join a Life Group today.

For more information please email Brian Roberson at brian@fellowshipofmontgomery.net, or you can also fill out our online form at this link and a Life Group leader will be in contact with you.

FM Worship Ministry

For many people, Easter is all about a magical bunny that visits in the night, leaving candy and colorful eggs in his wake. But for Christians, Easter is so much more. Easter Sunday is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of Christ after the crucifixion. It's the day that we celebrate Christ beating death and sin for us.  So this month, lets pray upon all the beautiful music that acknowledges His great sacrifice for us and the true love in Jesus!

I wrote a song that I'd like to share.  Its called RISE.

In every solitary thought that passes through me, I wonder why it had to be..

That He was God, became a man to live and die, to set a lost world free.

And I imagine myself standing there before you, so many things I'd want to say.  I would question why you sacrificied your life and didn't run away.

And I would kneel before you with my offering, but they are so unworthy when compared. In what you did for me and all the world when you died up there.

You could have disobeyed The Father and acted on your own, but you love us so you suffered through the pain.  You knew redemption had to happen so that life would have no end and you suffered so we'd never hurt again.  So rise and follow Him beloved one!

And how did it make you feel to know we would betray you and did it break your heart to know that sin would need a sacrifice and you'd be the one that would have to go?  And with your final words upon the cross you cried "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." Could have called upon a hundred million angels, but you chose to see it through.

You could have disobeyed The Father and acted on your own, but you love us so you suffered through the pain.  You knew redemption had to happen so that life would have no end and you suffered so we'd never hurt again.  So rise and follow Him beloved one!

FM Student Update:

Wednesday Nights: In
April we will start a new series called God in Search of Man and focus on the book of Jonah. The story of Jonah is similar many times to our personal lives as Christians.  God has this awesome plan and purpose for our lives, yet many times we are too busy thinking about our plans, our desires, and ourselves.  As we look at Jonah, we will discover how God directs and guides us, and we will examine how sometimes He even must redirect us to get us back on track. So join us Wednesdays at 6:45p for a great time of studying God's Word, worship, games, food, and a whole lot of fun.

FM Student Text Group:  We have a new way for parents and students to be updated each week about events and details related to the student ministry.  Text fomyouth to 23559 and create your own unique username.  We would love to keep your informed with this system.

Youth Summer Camp:  We now have opened registration for those students in 7th-12th grade that are interested in youth camp this summer on July 9-13.  Currently, there is a $100 deposit due to secure your spot, and the second payment of $100 is due April 22nd.  If you would like more details or have questions please email Brian Roberson at brian@fellowshipofmontgomery.net.

FM Student Life Groups: This month our Student Life Groups will meet every Monday in the month of April.  We will switch back and forth between the Angelo's home and the McLeod's home. The Junior High and High School Girls will be studying Life Rollercoaster, and the guys will be studying Gimme God. If you need a map to get directions to the home, please check out our website under the FM Students tab.

FM Student Spring Calendar/Newsletter & Parent Page
:  Click on this link to see the new calendar/newsletter of all that we will be studying the next few months, calendar of events, and opportunities to get plugged in.

Mission Montgomery: This month our students will be doing a mission project at All the King's Horses in Montgomery on April 28th from 9a-12p.  This ranch is used to reach underprivileged and troubled children and teenagers with the love of Christ through an outreach with horses.  This is not only fun but helpful in teaching many valuable life skills. We will be helping this camp out by getting it ready for the summer activities through serving in whatever capacity they need.

Youth Fundraiser: We are having our annual youth fundraiser this year on May 6th which helps support our Youth Auctionstudents at camp, Disciple Now Weekend, and 5th Quarters.  We will be having a dinner that evening with both live and silent auctions.  We would love to start collecting items throughout April.  We are in need of anything from gift certificates, creative baskets full of goodies, hunting & fishing trips, golf games, or any other large item.  Thank you so much for your support!

The Kove Pre-School Ministry Update:

Nursery: Each Sunday we enjoy providing our littlest ones with a loving and caring environment while parents participate in worship.

Toddlers:   In the toddler area, we get to have a lot of fun as we create a friendly, Christian environment where our kids enjoy singing, snacks, games, and Bible activities.

Pre-K (3-5 yrs): This month in the Kove we will continue our series Good News Jr. Wouldn't it be great if there was a news show just for kids? A news show that wasn't the same old boring news that adults watch? A show where we could all learn about Jesus, the story of Easter, and all the exciting things going on in our neighborhood? Well, we have some good news: Good News Jr. is about to go on the air! So turn on the TV, and stay tuned, because it's time for some late-breaking, action-packed, puppet-staffed, Good News!  If you have any questions, please contact Heather Schenk in the nursery on Sunday.

The Wave Children's Ministry
The Wave Update4twelve logo

The Wave (K-3rd):
We are continuing our series about Easter called Good News Kids. So join us on set and behind the scenes as we learn about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus and how it applies to us today. Along the way we'll need your help to keep bumbling anchors Tim Hunter and Trudy Grapevine from ruining the most important morning news show on the air! So call your cameramen, and check all the microphones, because we're back from commercial in 5...4...3...

We would also like for you to join us on Wednesday nights as we continue to have fun and explore the Bible.  We meet at 6:30 pm in the large room at the west end of our building to enjoy pizza and games with our friends.  At 7:00 pm we move upstairs to The Wave for a fun time of learning about God's Word.

Easter Egg Hunt & Celebration:   It's that wonderful time of year again, where we celebrate the greatest gift we have ever received: our salvation through Christ.  Let us join together to glorify our Lord, and help the children celebrate and understand the meaning of Easter.  We will need everyone's help, and one of the ways you can assist in getting ready for our annual Easter Egg Hunt is to bring non-chocolate candies and plastic eggs to the collection box in the atrium of the church. We gave out over 3,000 Easter eggs last year,  and we expect to use over 4,000 Easter eggs this year.  Be sure that your candy donations will fit in a typical plastic egg, and thank you so much!

The Ride Pre-Teen Ministry

The Ride Update:

Preteens (4th-6th grade)
:  On Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, we invite all pre-teeners for fun, games, and learning how to live out God's Word in everyday life.  Come join us for a time of growing your spiritual life while having a great time with your friends.

On Sundays, we are doing a series called Konnect.  The preteen
group is going on a journey through the Bible. The stories come alive through hands-on projects, crazy games, and fun activities. Join us each Sunday as we will be looking at stories from Creation through Exodus.

On Wednesdays our curriculum is called SuperStart, and this quarter the theme is amazing illusions.  Here is what this theme looks like: Take a trip to an amazing place! Go with Patrick, Samantha, and Eric to The Amazing Kent's Illusion Study as they learn how to do illusions. The Amazing Kent is a great teacher and even arranges for an audience to watch Patrick, Samantha, and Eric perform their illusions. As the cast learns how to do illusions and gets themselves into some wacky situations, students will make some amazing discoveries about their own lives.

Preteen Camp:  If you are interested in preteen camp, there are still spots available, but we need a $50 deposit to secure the spot.  Please contact Marissa Scholl or Rockey Butler with any questions you might have.

If you have any questions or would like to know how to get plugged in to the Preteen Ministry, please contact Marissa Scholl at marissa.scholl@gmail.com.
