Greetings!

Thank the Lord, we did it!  With God's help, in early September, we made the transition to two worship services at 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. With our average attendance greater than 300, it was necessary to create an additional time slot in order to free up needed space for guests in the worship service as well as in our children's ministry space. So many of you have stepped forward to see where you could serve, and it has been a tremendous blessing to see the church in action.

In September, God also blessed the church with an additional eight acres of land. The owners of the property south and west of the church building donated five acres to Fellowship of Montgomery. The Ministry Development Team also approved the purchase of an additional three acres bringing our total property to approximately twelve acres.

In worship, we are currently studying a lifestyle of boldness as characterized by the early believers in the book of Acts. I'm convinced that our God expects the same of us today as He did in New Testament days... bold praying, bold speaking, and bold obedience. My prayer is that we will continue to be a bold church boldly asking and attempting great things for the glory of our God and the good of people everywhere.

Remember to invite a friend to church. You'll both be eternally grateful that you did.

May the Lord continue to bless you!

FM Worship Ministry

Psalm 100 "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing....."

God wants us to worship him. That's a given. But exactly how do we worship God?

Sometimes we struggle to answer that question. Often we go to church on Sunday to worship. Then what? What about the other six days in the week? How do we worship God when we're changing diapers, negotiating a contract, studying or taking the kids to their multiple activities?

We can worship in those situations by seeking to do everything for the glory of God. In other words, we worship God when we allow our thoughts and actions to be used to reveal who Jesus is. We might not be able to share the gospel in every situation, but we can at least attempt to manifest the fruit of the Spirit and try to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Because God is a spirit (John 4:24), our worship of him cannot be confined to a building. It must spill over into the entire world, impacting the lives of those around us with the life-changing message of God's love.

I don't want to box you in
You've been doing big things since the world began
Sometimes I just don't understand
That you're big enough Jesus

FM Student Update:

Wednesday Nights

In October through November we will be studying the book of Ruth.   God provided for and blessed Ruth, and we will apply that truth to how He provides for us each and everyday.  This message is a great reflection of how blessed we are in the upcoming season of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

FM Student Life Groups                                                                                                          UPDATED: At FM Student Ministry, we want to get students involved in sharing life together and growing their spiritual life together.  During the fall and spring semester, we have small groups throughout the week split up by gender and age.  We study material ranging from topical studies to books of the Bible. This semester, all small groups will be at the Angelo's home on Monday nights from 6p-8p every other week.  We will meet together and split up based on gender and age.  You can click on the Fall calendar below to see the dates and on our website to find a map to their home.  The students will meet at 6p, have 30 minutes of fellowship, and then break up by gender to do a Bible study and prayer time.  The groups will end around 8p  If you are interested in being involved, please contact Brian Roberson at brian@fellowshipofmontgomery.net.

The Ride Pre-Teen Ministry

The RideThe Ride Update:

Preteens (4th - 6th grade)
Sunday mornings we are starting a new series called Pray.  Prayer is a critical part of our relationship with God. However, it is also a very misunderstood practice. Many of us treat God like an eternal pinata ready to drop candy out of the sky if we bother Him long enough about our wants and desires. Others tend to treat Him as a sky fairy that can magically wave a wand and make miracles happen if we say the magic words. Still others pretend that God is a genie in a bottle that only grants three wishes so we better ask just right. Is this what prayer really is, or is there more?

Simply put - prayer is talking to God about what you're working on together. It's a relationship that requires both listening and talking. The Bible is filled with many examples of people who talked to God about all kinds of things happening in their lives, so join us as we learn to Pray

On Wednesday evenings, starting at 6:30, Andy Van and Marissa Scholl invite you to join them for fun, food, games, and learning how to live out God's Word in everyday life.  On Wednesday, we will be beginning a new study for the next 4 weeks.  Taking the Plunge is a series that helps  preteens understand who Jesus is and why it is important to accept him as Lord and Savior. They will learn where sin began, why they need a Savior, how to accept Christ into their, heart and take the necessary steps towards baptism.

After a making a decision for Christ we will be looking at what a life of being a disciple looks like - a follower of Jesus. Preteens will learn effective tools to incorporate into their daily walk with Christ and ways to stay focused on what God's will for their life looks like.  Throughout the series there are interactive questions and stories that will challenge them to stretch their faith and step out of comfort zones to love, serve, and share Christ with others.
