From the Pastor
God has certainly poured out His blessings this summer on His church.  Student Camp, Preteen Camp, VBS, and our Honduras Mission Trip... at each of these ministry opportunities we have seen God working, providing, and drawing people to Himself for salvation and growth in their faith.

Over the past couple of months you have also heard us talk to you about a bi-vocational pastor in Conroe who is in need of our help.  Thank the Lord we have received donations and now have a clear direction for going forward to help this brother and his family.  The

team that has been working on this local mission project has made some plans for the next two Saturdays.  Please take a few minutes and read the following email that John Yeates sent to the team and Life Groups.

May the Lord bless you,

Pastor Dale

Dear Church Family,

I hope you are ready to make an eternal impact on more people than you can imagine!  Pastor Glenn has helped many people, and now he has a home that is needing repairs.  The address in Conroe is 503 S 10th St (Corner of S 10th and Ave F).

Pastor Glenn needs our help to get this house livable.  With your help, we can get him back home and take a huge burden off of Glenn and his family.  By doing this, Pastor Glenn will be able to focus on his congregation's needs, and those of his community.  In other words, our church is going to be making eternal differences in more lives than we can know.

Rick Ranes has put together a list of what needs to be done to get Pastor Glenn and his family out of the motel they are living in and back in his home.  We are going to be accomplishing as much of this list as we can over the next two Saturdays (August 6 and 13).

This Saturday, August 6, we are going to be cleaning, painting the interior, pulling off old sheetrock, and uncovering things that will need to be repaired the following Saturday.  This Saturday will be a great time for anyone (including teenagers) who is willing to help because of the light work we'll be doing.

Some paint and other items will already be on site, but here is a list of some items we need you to bring:

  • Generators, Extension Chords (no power at the house)
  •  Power Washer
  • Paint Brushes, Rollers, Paint Trays, Paint Sprayer, etc. (we do not need drop cloths)
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Box Fans
  • Water cooler (with ice and water)
  • Your Handy-Man Tools (hammer, pry bar, etc.)

If you have any of these things, or know who does, please arrange to have them at Pastor Glenn's house Saturday, August 6, at 7:00AM.  Please let me know by Thursday, August 4, what and who you are able to bring.  We will work from 7:00AM until noon.  That should give us enough time to get these things done and have the house ready for the next Saturday.

So.... Saturday, August 6 - cleaning, painting, and light construction work.  Saturday, August 13 - more serious construction work.  We need you, your Life Group, your friends, and anyone else who wants to demonstrate the love of Christ to this pastor, his family, and his church.

Please don't forget to let me know if you will be there and what you can bring.  Then plan to be at Pastor Glenn's home at 7:00AM on Saturday, August 6.  We will gather in the front yard to pray for Pastor Glenn, the community, and our labor... then get to work.

May God be glorified as we demonstrate His love to others!

Women of Faith Conference

"God loves us more than we know. He gives us more than we can ask or dream. He's unrestrained... excessive... outrageous... Over the Top."

Join the women at Fellowship of Montgomery as we go on a weekend retreat to San Antonio, October 21-22.  We will study the Word of God, hear from some exceptional speakers, worship together with some talented worship leaders and artists, and grow closer as a group of women.  If you are interested, please contact Kim Talbert.

Life Groups

Life Groups are not simply a Bible study, they are so much more.  At Life Group meetings, we hang out, get to know each other, worship God, study His Word, and then we DO his work!  At Fellowship of Montgomery, we are doers of God's Word and not just hearers.  So, join a Life Group today.  For more information on how to become involved please email our Connection Pastor, John Yeates at john@fellowshipofmontgomery.net, or you can find out more on our website.

 FM Student Update:

Wednesday Nights
 in the Summer

We are drawing near to the close of our summer.  We have had a great time at camp, going to different homes for FM Cribs, and playing games in FM Xtreme.  We have a couple more weeks left  before we get back in the swing of the school year.  There will be one more FM Cribs and also  an event called Lake Day.  Lake Day will be the first event for the new 7th graders to participate in.  You can check out the maps to the home where we will be swimming and also for our Lake Day on the website. Maps to those homes will be found on our website fellowshipofmontgomery.net under the students tab.

Lake Day

On Wednesday, August 17th we will have a Lake Day at Scott's Ridge Park.  You can find a map to Scott's Ridge on our website.  We will have a fun time of sand volleyball, cookout, and skiing.  If your student wants to ski, tube, or wakeboard, they must print off and fill out a medical release form.  You can click on this link to print that form from you home computer.  Also, this will be a day that we welcome the new 7th graders into the youth group and explain to them about our different events throughout the year.

Preteen Camp Recap

Preteen Camp, also known as "God's Amazing Race," at Trinity Pines was truly amazing.  There were 74 preteens who took this adventure with 10 faithful sponsors.  It was a moving experience to watch these children worship.  We were blessed to have 32 committing themselves to Christ and 7 pledging to rededicate their lives to the Lord.  We would like to thank all of our volunteers and say a special thank you to our camp directors, Andy Van and Marissa Scholl.
