From the Pastor

Church Family,

Summer has arrived once again, and you can almost hear the shouts of hallelujah coming from schoolyards all over town (not sure who is the loudest though... students or teachers).  All joking aside, we do live in a wonderful community.  I've stepped on to several campuses in recent days, and on many occasions I run in to Godly men and women who are teachers, coaches, and administrators.  I thank God for their influence upon the lives of our children.  Be sure to take time and let them know how much you appreciate their labor of love.

I also want to say a special word of congratulations to our graduating class of 2011.  It was a privilege to honor the 13 seniors that were present on Senior Recognition Sunday in May.  You have been a tremendous group of leaders and a blessing to this church.  I am so proud of you all.

As we enter into these summer months, I pray it is a fun and a safe time for your entire family.  Keep checking our website for updates on everything from fun fellowship events to local mission projects.  I also want to encourage you to stay connected in the days and weeks ahead... stay connected with your Life Group, connected with your friends in the Student Ministry, and connected with your church family during worship.  If you are planning to be gone over a weekend, let me encourage you to visit the streaming page on our website.  It goes "live" every Sunday at 10:45 a.m.

Lord willing, I look forward to seeing you this Sunday.

May the Lord bless you,

Pastor Dale

Life Groups Ministry Presents...
Movie Night
Life Groups

Once again I am amazed at how God is so noticeably involved in our church.  As the Connection Pastor, I'm all about connecting people to God and others...to love God and love others (the greatest command).  Basically, Jesus said, that's all that is expected of you.  Now loving God and loving others entails a lot, and it's not all in your heart or mind... it's in your actions.

About a year ago, while Tyson Ranes was doing some electrical work in a home, he happened upon a friendly plumber who was also working in this home.  As it turned out, this plumber was a pastor of a small African-American church in Conroe.  Glenn Taylor, the plumber-pastor, invited Tyson to his church (new Bethel Baptist) and Tyson took him up on his offer.

Tyson felt that God was urging him to help this pastor since the church and the pastor's home were in need of serious repairs.  The pastor does not receive a salary from his church, and he loves people so much that he does a lot of his plumbing pro-bono.  And guess what... that doesn't pay the bills or make the repairs.  Now the pastor who has cared for others is in dire need of help himself.  The pastor had to move his family out of his home because it is basically collapsing around them.  Unfortunately, he cannot afford to pay rent any longer and may soon be homeless.  But, God is at work!  God brought Glenn to Tyson, who is bringing this matter to us.  Now, God is watching his children at the FM wondering how we'll respond to His invitation to join Him in His work.  And, guess what?  We are going to step up.  We are stepping up for Glenn, his family, his church, this community, and our God!

 Pastor's House

Tyson and his father Rick recently brought this need to the Ministry Development Team.  The team believes that helping Pastor Glenn is a wonderful idea, and when Tyson called to tell the pastor that we would be helping him and his church, he had to pull to the side of the road because he was weeping so hard!  I just love that reaction... the overwhelming flow of emotions when we experience the hand of God moving in our lives!

This is exactly what Life Groups are about.  Life Groups are not simply a Bible Study, they are so much more.  At Life Group meetings, we hang out, get to know each other, worship God, study His word, and then...my favorite part... we DO his work!  This ministry opportunity is an amazing way to start our Life Group Ministry!  And the cool thing is... God is the one orchestrating everything!

At Fellowship of Montgomery, we are doers of God's word and not just hearers.  So, join a Life Group today.  If there aren't any Life Groups in your area... Start one!  And then, join us as we take on this ministry project that God has dropped in front of us.

Give me a call or send me an email today if you'd like to help!

Wednesday Nights in the Summer
This summer, we have many activities and fun packed Wednesdays.  We will be alternating each week between FM Xtreme and FM Cribs.

In FM Xtreme, we will come to the church on Wednesday nights for athletic competitions ranging from kickball to dodgeball to ultimate frisbee.

The weeks that we have FM Cribs we will be at different homes swimming, hanging out, eating, and fellowshipping.  Maps to those homes will be found on our website fellowshipofmontgomery.net under the students tab.

Each week, we will have time set aside for a devotional or object lesson, and we will also have some guest students and adults speak throughout the course of the summer.  Come get involved on Wednesday nights.  It is a relaxed environment where we have pizza, play games, go swimming, and dive into the Word of God.  We hope to see you there at 6:30!  God Bless.

The Ride Pre-Teen Ministry

The RideThe Ride Update:

The Ride: Preteens (4th - 6th grade)

On Sunday mornings, we will continue our series "Investigating Grace".

Investigating Grace - The Loop

Grace is something that every believer in Christ experiences, but never completely understands. This series is designed to connect biblical stories of grace with modern day versions. This series introduces a personified Grace as one of the characters. And like the name suggests, she is under investigation. Since Grace is going to actually be a person describing herself using the attributes and descriptions of God's grace, our goal is to help clarify the meaning of grace as a thread we see throughout the Bible. You could even say the story of the Bible is grace. Grace gives us something good that we don't deserve - surprising grace and the story of Joseph. Grace removes our labels - rescuing grace and the story of Rahab. Grace is not stingy - giving grace and the story of Jonah. Grace is always available - saving grace and the story of Peter. Get ready to investigate grace and get ready to discover your own story of grace!

On Wednesday evenings, starting at 6:30, Andy Van and Marissa Scholl would enjoy having you for fun, food, games, and a continual study into God's Word and its application for everyday life.

If you are interested in helping out and being a part of this ministry, please contact Rockey Butler at rockey@fellowshipofmontgomery.net.  We would love to have you in this vibrant and growing ministry.
