Greetings!
Church family, I thank God for what He has been doing in the lives of His people and through Fellowship of Montgomery.  April was a month filled with His blessings:  construction completion, expanded preteen ministry, back-to-back baptisms, numerous first time guests, and Easter Sunday with more than 300 people in attendance (our largest attendance ever).  "Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to His name..." (Psalm 135:3 NASB).
 
As we look forward through the month of May, I realize we are approaching a busy and fast paced time in the lives of our families.  Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Senior Graduation, and sporting events all find their place on our calendars in the coming weeks.  I pray you will enjoy special times with family and friends, but I also want to encourage you to make a commitment to be in your place each Sunday for worship.  Later in May, we will be calling attention to various areas of ministry within the church and sharing details about getting connected and serving. 
 
I give God thanks, once again, for the opportunity to serve as your pastor.  My confidence is in Him and His ability "to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us" (Eph. 3:20 NIV).

Wednesday Nights:
On Wednesday nights our student ministry starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until approximately 8:00 p.m.  All 7th-12th grade students are invited to join us for Bible study, pizza, worship, and games. Invite your friends to come and check out our study on "Things That Make You Go Ohhhh!" on Wednesday nights.
 
 
Small Groups:
We are looking at doing some changes to the location of our small groups at the end of this month.  Currently,  the guys meet at the Cooper's and ladies at the Roberson's at 7:30.  Soon, we will be all meeting at the Webb's home, and changing the time to 7:00.  Please contact Brian Roberson for more details. 

Summer Beach Camp: 
Students in 7th-12th grade are invited to attend Student Life Camp at the Beach on June 21-25.  The second deposit is now past due, and the final payment is due this month.  The final payment will be lowered to $115 because of the youth fundraiser.  This brings the final cost of camp to $365.  If you are interested in going to camp and are not signed up, there are only 10 spots left.  Please see Brian Roberson for any questions you might have, or email him at brianjroberson@gmail.com.
 
Youth Fundraiser Re-Cap: 
We appreciate everyone that helped organize and contribute to the youth fundraiser.  We raised approximately $13,000 for the youth budget!  The Lord definitely blessed us, and with the money, we can minister to the students and disciple the students more effectively.  Thanks again!

Children's Ministry:
On Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings, we have children's activities for 1st-3rd grades.  This is a great time for your child to learn and grow in God's Word while having a lot of fun.  If you are interested in helping or bringing your child, please contact Myra Lundstrom for more details. 
 
VBS:
We are excited about VBS this year.  It is going to be held July 6-8, and we are in need of plenty of volunteers.  Please contact Myra Lundstrom if you would like to volunteer in any way at mylundstrom@yahoo.com.

Pre-Teen Ministry

 
PreTeens
 
Wednesday Pre-Teen Ministry:
Wednesday night Pre-teens meet from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.  Come join us each Wednesday evening for pizza, games, fellowship, and Bible study.  All 4th-6th graders are welcome to attend.
 
Sunday Pre-Teen Ministry:
On Sundays, we have a pre-teen worship and Bible study time for 4th-6th led by Rockey and Stacey Butler.  Sign your child in at they foyer, and then bring them to the extension on the sanctuary for a fun time of learning about God's Word and worship.
 
Pre-Teen Camp:
Preteen camp is July 14-18, 2010 at Trinity Pines in Trinity, Texas. For more information you can email Andy VanHaverbeke at vango@consolidated.net or Myra Lundstrom at mylundrstrom@yahoo.com.  We have 25 signed up already!
 
Pre-Teen Service Project:
All the Kings Horses Ranch:

The service project will be held on Sunday, May 23: 1:00pm - 3:00pm.  We will be leaving after church and lunch will be provided directly following church service in The Ride.  All students currently in preteen ministry and parents are welcome!  Sorry no younger siblings allowed on this project.
 
Every student and adult must have a signed liability release in order to go on this service project.  These forms must be turned in by Wednesday night services on May 19th in order to attend.  We will need a final count of participants by this date in order to arrange transportation and lunch.
 
Parents - We will need 1 adult for every 5 students - please let us know if you are interested in helping with the project.

 
Reminder for Parents:
Parents, please make sure that your child is signed in on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.  You must pick up your child from their class with the peel off portion of the sticker that is placed on your child.  We have been blessed with a growing number of children, and we want to make sure that they are as safe as possible.  Please be patient with us as we are implementing the new sign in procedure.
