| Greetings! |
Last Sunday we sang Chris Tomlin's inspiring song "God of This City." The lyrics resonate over and over in my thoughts as I think about what God has accomplished and what He has planned for the future of Fellowship of Montgomery, our community, and beyond. We sang: You're the God of this City You're the King of these people You're the Lord of this nation You are
You're the Light in this darkness You're the Hope to the hopeless You're the Peace to the restless You are
For greater things have yet to come And greater things are still to be done in this City Greater things have yet to come And greater things are still to be done in this City
God has done so much in the life of our young church, and for that I am thankful. As we look back and think about the individuals and families He has reached and the lives that have been changed, I believe it is critical for us to continue to create open doors through which people can respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, November 29, we will have a called business meeting immediately following the worship service. You will hear from and be able to ask questions of representatives from our finance team, administrative team, and myself. The purpose of our meeting is to discuss and vote on the opportunity we have to expand our children and student ministries through the construction of new facilities. God has done great things, and greater things are still to be done in and through us.
On a side note, I know that all of you are very interested in items that touch our community. In fact several of our members serve and help others through civic and para-church organizations. For this reason I wanted to make you aware that I have been asked to participate in The Rotary Club of Lake Conroe's Patriotic Christmas Prayer Breakfast. This will be December 2, 7:00 a.m. at La Torretta Del Lago. You can visit their website for more information.
On Sunday, November 29, we will observe the Lord's Supper during our worship service. I wanted to make sure that all of our parents know that it is your decision to make regarding the participation of your children. If they have made a faith commitment to Jesus Christ and followed through in believers baptism, I would encourage you to consider allowing them to sit with you in the worship service and participate. Whatever you decide, it will be a great day of giving thanks to our Savior.
Lord willing, I look forward to seeing you Sunday as we worship our Savior and turn our attention to God's Word.
May the Lord bless you,
