|
First of all, we have missed you. My family and I certainly had a great time together on our vacation, but we are also so grateful to have a wonderful church family to come home to. I appreciate Brian and Skip preaching in my absence and, as always, Colin for leading God's people to worship our Savior. These men are a true blessing to me and to this church family.
On Sunday, August 2, a new Bible study group had their first meeting at the home of Trent and Shannon Elliott. If you are not plugged in to another group, it is not too late to check it out. For more information contact Trent and Shannon at 936-447-3035.
If you are not a member of Fellowship of Montgomery, I want to invite you to join me on August 9, in our worship center, at 5:00 p.m. for Membership 101. You will discover details about our history, basic beliefs, and where God is leading us for the future. At the conclusion of the class, you will have an opportunity to join the church as you sense God's leadership in that way. If you would like more information, or if you are planning to attend, please take a moment to send me an email.
On Sunday, August 23, we will have a brief time of Parent/Child Dedication during our worship service. For those of you with little ones, this time is a declaration of our desire and commitment to teach our children and to model for them the reality that Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord. | Women's Ministry |
 Thursday, August 13th is a night for the ladies of Fellowship of Montgomery and their guests to get together for good conversation, a little food, and a lot of fun. This month we will meet at Margarita and Peppers in Conroe at 6:30 p.m. Please RSVP to Kim Talbert by email or phone at 936-203-2567. Remember, this would be a great opportunity to invite a friend and introduce them to some of your church family. We hope to see you there! |

 Lunch 4A Bunch
Only two more lunches left! Join us on Monday August 10th and August 17th from 12-1 for a time to hang out and eat. On the 10th we will be meeting at Jack in the Box, and on the 17th we will be meeting at Quiznos. See you there!
SNS
We have two Saturday Night Socials in August. The first is on August 8th. We will be meeting at the church at 6 p.m. We will be having a crazy competition, and when we finish the competition, we will have food. The next Saturday Night Social has been moved to August 23, so it is now a Sunday Night Social. This is another crazy night of fierce competition. All youth in 7th-12th grade are invited. We will also need some sponsors for these events. If you are available to help please contact Brian.
Calling All Musicians
On August 9th at 3 p.m. we will be having our first youth band practice. If you are interested in playing an instrument or singing in the youth band, please come check us out. If you have any questions, contact Brian.
Parent Ministry
We are starting our Parent Ministry in September. We will be going through a book by Walt Mueller called Youth Culture 101. This book is separated into 12 chapters that deal with youth culture and what surrounds our youth today. We will plan on meeting once a month and have an open forum about the things our students are going through and also the material in the book. The goal of this is not to grade each other on how well we know how to deal with teenagers. Instead, it is a time to discuss, help each other, and begin to understand what teenagers deal with. Each quarter, there will be a guest speaker who is knowledgeable in youth culture that will come speak at a dinner or luncheon. If you would like to participate, please sign up with Brian by August 23rd. The cost of the book is $20. |
| Kids Ministry |
 Tremendous TuesdaysAugust 4th Cookout on Lake ConroeBring your swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen. We will grill hot dogs, swim, and play in the sand. There is no cost for this trip. Simply meet at Fellowship of Montgomery at 10:30 a.m., and we will travel there together. We will then return to the church by 3:00 p.m. This event is for all children through 6th grade. Children 6 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent. All participants must complete a medical release form. Adult chaperones, it's not to late to volunteer. DOCK Information Meeting
Please join us August 16, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor for DESSERT IN THE DOCK! Our children's ministry is BOOMING, and we are putting together five rotating teams. These teams of 3-4 people help teach our children (K-4th) about the wonderful love of God! Each team will teach one out of every five months, and all curriculum is supplied for you. The goal for our meeting time is to answer all your questions so you will feel fully prepared. Come check out this wonderful ministry opportunity!
