News from Fellowship of Montgomery

One of the things I enjoy so much is the time I have each week to visit with church members and the guests you bring to Fellowship of Montgomery. I once heard someone say that a true friend will ask "How are you doing?" and then actually stick around long enough to hear how you're doing. Genuine friendship is what I am blessed to experience each week, and I thank God for you.

I want to encourage you to plan a little "listening" time for those God has placed around you. Take time to find out what is going on with a neighbor or coworker. Discover some concern of theirs that you can pray for and then be sure to spend the time in prayer you committed to. Follow up and ask your friend for an update. As you do, I am convinced you will experience a closeness in your walk with the Lord and you will have the privilege of knowing you are being used by God in His kingdom work.

Students 5th - 8th Grade
Wednesday evenings for 9th - 12th grade is rolling strong each week, and beginning April 1, we will offer an exciting new time of Bible study, games, and (of course) pizza for our students 5th - 8th grade. There is no need for your student to register, but if you have questions please contact our leader for this group, Andy Van. We begin at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday, but show up a little early for the food and fun!

Pre-Teen Camp

If you have a student 3rd through 6th grade, then it's time to register for Pre-Teen Camp at Trinity Pines. Camp dates are Wednesday, July 15, through Sunday, July 19. The cost for camp is $195.

A $50 deposit is due at registration. An additional $50 is due by May 27. No refunds can be guaranteed after this time. The camper's remaining balance will be due in the church office by Sunday, July 11. Campers and Adults interested in going as sponsors need to contact Andy Van.

Easter Egg Hunt

We will have an Easter egg hunt for all children on April 12, immediately following our worship service. You can assist by donating candy to fill eggs. Simply drop off candy in the church office during weekday office hours or prior to the Sunday worship service.

Old Cell Phones

Our youth are currently participating in a fundraiser to help offset the cost of student camp. If you have recently updated your cell phone and still have your previous phone, we would like to take it off your hands. You may have noticed a small, white box located in the hallway of the church office. Please donate your cell phones by dropping them in this box. The phones will then be collected and shipped to our sponsor. Thanks for supporting our Student Ministry!

Student Life Camp

Camp this year will be June 29 through July 3, on the beach at South Padre Island. This will be the second year our youth have attended Student Life @ The Beach. As they will tell you, this camp offers top-shelf Bible study, beach volleyball tournaments, and plenty of free time to hang out on the beach. Registration and deposits are due now. We have a waiting list and do not want anyone that wants to go to be left out. The total cost is $350, and this full amount is due in the church office no later than May 17. A parent meeting will also take place on that date. For more information, please contact Brandon in the church office.
