| Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project |
|
For the 25th year, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, will call attention to Habitat for Humanity's work to help low-income families realize the goal of homeownership. This year's Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Project will be held along the Gulf Coast, May 11-16 from Houston, TX to Mobile, AL. HFHSTW is honored to host the Carters on the Covington worksite where volunteers from around the world will dry-in ten homes during the five-day build.
Sponsorships are needed to fund construction, provide lunches, snacks and water breaks, and to assist with the logistics for the volunteers who will come to West St. Tammany to build. For more information, call the office at 985-893-3172.

Marilyn Wenzel seeking pledges for "Friends of Marilyn" home
Celebrating her 25th anniversary along with the Carters is HFHSTW's own Marilyn Wenzel. A longtime volunteer at the Habitat Home Store in Covington, she has also served as Board President, participated on numerous committees and facilitated real estate acquisitions. In 2006, Miss Marilyn was awarded Habitat for Humanity International's highest honor. She was one of only two people in the world that year to be presented with the Pioneer in Excellence Award.
Miss Marilyn's service also includes working side-by-side with President Carter on several builds throughout the country. Because of her close ties to this specific project, HFHSTW is honoring her quarter-century of volunteerism with a "Friends of Marilyn" home that will be part of the Carter Project. If you would like to donate to the "Friends of Marilyn" home, please call 985-893-3172 to learn more or donate online today.

| Dedication Marks Completion of "Faith Village" |
|
Six Homes Financed and Built by Faith-Based Organizations
Representatives from ten separate faith-based organizations joined Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West on Feb. 25 to dedicate "Faith Village."
The initiative began in January 2007 with an initial $150,000 donation by International Orthodox Christian Charities. Since that time, church groups, religious organizations and members of the community have joined forces to build homes for the Maddox, Quave, Sharp, Sherman, Silvan and Stogner families.

You can help Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West eliminate substandard housing in the area by 2025. Join the Habitat Carpenter Club or volunteer in our stores, offices or construction sites. Every dollar goes into the building of a new home and the strength of our community.
Sincerely,
Wendy Schneider
