Hair Regrowth and Growth Treatments 

It's amazing how advanced hair care products have become. In recent years, new research in chemical-based hair restoration, or "cosmeceuticals," has created amazing new products that have been proven to regrow hair in clinical trials. We are happy to announce that we now carry products from DS Laboratories that can help grow, regrow, condition, repair and strengthen hair.

Hair loss is not just a problem for men. Fifty percent of women over 30 experience thinning hair. We now carry hair-regrowth treatments for men AND women that improve scalp vitality, maintain hair quality, and stimulate growth. These treatments can be used as corrective therapy to stimulate new hair growth, as well as preventative therapy to maintain existing hair.

Preventative treatment is especially effective in the early stages of hair thinning as hair follicles do not quit generating hair suddenly. They produce strands progressively thinner and shorter, called miniaturization, during each follicular cycle. Three phases of growth - anagen (active), catagen (transitional), and telogen (resting) - make one cycle, which normally lasts a few years. With androgenic alopecia, however, anagen phases get shorter and telogen phases get longer.

All hair loss treatments work better in the early stages of baldness, since delicate follicles atrophy over time. In the first 10 or 15 years of hair loss, follicles retain good potential. After 15 or 20 years, however, fewer will respond to treatment.

Natural Hair Color Line

We are also thrilled to announce that we will be launching a new natural color line called Essensity by Schwarzkopf in September. This line has zero ammonia, odor, silicones, paraffin, parabens, formaldehyde derivatives or alcohol. Essensity is an oil-in-cream color enriched with grape-seed oil, natural ectoin and bees wax.

It took us over six months to analyze various natural color lines and we chose Essensity for it's commitment to natural ingredients and solid color performance. This color line is perfect for clients with sensitive skin or who have allergies to ammonia.

Back-to-School Backpacks

Tessa will be returning from maternity leave on a part-time basis working Saturdays from 8 AM through 3:30 PM. We can't wait to have Tessa's warm smile back at Salon Khouri!

Tina has started school to become a personal trainer and has switched to the evening desk. So don't misbehave on your next visit or she might make you do a set of lunges! Also, we have hired a new sunny face to assist on weekends and evenings. Please give a warm welcome to Alesia Smith the next time you are in the salon. And, last but most definitely not least, Amber has been covering the daytime front desk position, but will be departing at the end of August for Japan to teach English. We wish Amber the best of luck as she departs on this exciting new chapter of her life!! We are in the process of searching for a daytime front desk candidate. If you know of anyone who would be a good fit, please have them email their resume to us. 

Congratulations to Stephanie Falcon, who has just been promoted to Jonathan's assistant in our apprenticeship program. We look forward to seeing Stephanie continue to grow with us!
